how do I rebuild my dll.xml file?

Featured Replies

I have been trying to resolve an issue with MyTraffic and along the way had to delete my Generated Files.  After I did this none of my modules and addons load anymore (Chaseplane, FSUIPC, Coatl, etc.).  I thought this fill would re-generate but it has not for some reason and I don't know where to start to get it back again.  Can anyone provide some guidance.   thanks,

Mark, if Elaine happens to read your post, I am sure she'll help. She's an ace with MT6 and dll.xml files.

I think I know how to manually write out a new one (and Elaine has a post on this as well) but the problem is I don't even know what was in file in the first place.  I have FSUIPC, Chaseplane, PMDG, others?

If you didn't make a backup of the dll.xml file you will have to either reinstall or manually insert the required entries.

Hello Mark

Just to note 2 things

1) Running the delete generated files command will not effect your Add On's in the Prepar3D v4 add-ons folder Documents,  These folders are not touched so any Add Ons in there are fine.  (Unless you manually deleted these folders)

2) Also, When you run this command file it will empty the generated files into your Windows Recycle bin,  Check this location for the files you need.

-----

The dll.xml or exe.xml file in Roaming will not generate again by default when deleted,  These files are Installed from Add On's.    However these 2 files will generate again as default in ProgramData when you launch Prepar3D next.

Add On's like Chaseplane and Coatl have Control Panels yes ?   You could just launch these control panels again and they will (Should) generated the required files again.

As Vic said you will also need to reinstall some Add Ons

Check the Windows Recycle bin first

What Issue were you having with MyTraffic 6 ?   Where you launching from the Add-on.xml file or the old way (Simobjects.cfg)  ?

OK I think I have most of my stuff back now.  I can add others manually if I notice they are missing.  Not sure what happened all I did was delete generated files and untinstall MyTraffic6.  I actually did a repair by mistake and that may have caused a problem.

The issue I have with MT6 (and still have) is that I see traffic at some airports like EGLL even when my slider is at zero.  Can't figure out why so i wanted to completely uninstall MT6 and reinstall again.  I installed using the addon method you showed in one of your threads but could not figure out how to get it completely uninstalled.

You need to use Lorby Freeware Addon tool.  It not only does addon rearragement, but checks encoding of these files perfectly and does one click backups of all your important P3D config files.  It is the "must have" tool for your sim.

Oh I have it and have used it for as many Addons that I can. I have also backed up the files using his program so I guess I just need to figure out how to restore.
