Of course this is a complex topic and ChasePlane is "on my list". Again, has anybody experience using "new view" or "new camera"? Does that work?

Rudi...I think you will love chase plane with the DA-62. I have been using a touch screen for my Bonanza GTN 750 but I think that the way Sean has set up the use of the mouse wheel it will be easy to get rid of the extra screen. By the way, if you can answer this, I was wondering about how the switches are coded. Things like lights gear and flaps. Are they using custom code or will we be able to use our switch panels? No worries if you can not answer yet.

I use the same standard key commands than for my other aircraft. F5 F6 for the flaps. "g" for the gear (no FSUIPC). But some things as lights I always operate the switches with the mouse for all aircraft. G1000 is entirely custom coded, only command that I know it works there is "ctrl +E". Does that answer your question, did I understand right?

Yes it does. I expected that the G1000 would have some custom codes. Thanks.

OK now...everyone start talking loud and making noise. It is time to get Sean out of bed!! LOL

It could work to start a new view, align it, and undock it, but I think this method will drain performance and reduce FPS. Not likely practical currently.

Some times you can get away with that but, if you are using heavy scenery and settings are high I think it will be a problem. That technique seems to vary with different airplane addons for some reason. We will just have to try it and see with the DA-62

I thought "it" meant Friday, because Friday the 14th of December 2018 is going to be gone (out) from the Eastern USA in a little over 6 hours.🧐😃

Most custom code concentrates on G1000, cockpit sounds, autopilot and flight model. Hope I forgot nothing.

During first tests I used the view "VC only" which does not render environment. I zoomed in, view size big enough for the MFD. My Notebook is not so fast, needed about very roughly 3 ms per frame to render this 2nd view. What does that mean?

Lets assume you have 35 fps before. 1/35 = 28.6 ms.

Add it 28.6 + 3 = 31.6 ms

New fps is 1 / 31.6 ms = 31.7 fps

Not so bad imo. Used mip mapped textures. Might do more tests next days.

That actually sounds pretty good Rudi. Very good info.

MSI GE72VR 6 RF: 6700HQ @ 3,3 GHZ (this is a notebook version with therefore reduced TDP) 16 GB RAM GTX 1060 6 GB 1920 x 1080 (Screen itself 120 Hz)

AFAIK the GPU carries main load in rendering the Vertx G1000 displays. One first test with non-mip-mapped and SSAA was more worse. I am beta testing until the last minute, so have not enough data yet. I will post next days when I know more. Your results and from others are highly appreciated.

But again, I do that more for others at the moment. I use the Vertx DA62 as described above, "keystrokes" for G1000 view, PFD view, VC view and outside view fixed assigned to joystick.

Edit: you must zoom in in the 2nd view to get these good results

Surely you have a release version/candidate and not a beta version, correct?
