August 12, 200619 yr As far as I see it the list prices have been released meaning that the Deluxe version will cost
August 12, 200619 yr It's called market forces. Anyway, if it's too expensive you won't buy it - if you do buy it then it isn't too expensive. Gerry Howard
August 12, 200619 yr Come on, I think it's worth paying double that every 2 or 3 years for a brand new flight sim... with all the features and content nowadays, it's a far better training tool than any of the 'elite' or x-plane flight sims.
August 12, 200619 yr I'd pay that no probs. For 3 years of R&D at the Microsoft Flight Sim Factory, easy.My only gripe about the UK is that the Core 2 Duos to power this beast of an app won't be widely available until Mid October after the FSX release. Now thats frustrating.....
August 12, 200619 yr I think you are all missing the point. No-one is disputing that FS is worth the $69 being asked for in USA, but what Magic Man is pointing out that on a pro-rata basis we in the UK are being charged much more than the
August 12, 200619 yr I will try and buy FSX from abroad. The price of FSX will be cheaper than buying it over here, even with customs and VAT added :-lol Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"
August 12, 200619 yr >I will try and buy FSX from abroad. The price of FSX will be>cheaper than buying it over here, even with customs and VAT>added :-lolgood idea... now if we ALL do that ...
August 12, 200619 yr >I will try and buy FSX from abroad. The price of FSX will be>cheaper than buying it over here, even with customs and VAT>added :-lolThat is probably the reason why it's so high in the UK! To pay the VAT and custom charges your government charges! I think the problem is there, rather than MS trying to ripoff UK customers! Thanks Tom My Youtube Videos! http://www.youtube.com/user/tf51d
August 12, 200619 yr Laurie, thanks, at least someone did see my point.I'm not against the price, it's the difference between the same thing bought in different places.Tom, no, it's not the custom charges (which wouldn't apply here) or the VAT, which would. It is the fact that for some reason we in Britain (and probably across Europe) are always seen as an easy money make for profit margins. Nothing specifically against MS - most companies do it.It just seems like a price hike compared to the cost of FS2004. FS2000 I believe was around the same price but they dropped down with subsequent versions until the hike now.
August 13, 200619 yr Ignoring the currency differences, the UK gets it at 59.99 and the US at 69.99.The big question is, how do these prices compare with the average income in the US and UK. When you know that answer, then you'll know who is getting the 'raw deal'.

August 13, 200619 yr Ok firstly, we all know things in the USA are MUCH cheaper than in Europe.Ok, having just seen price info from Simflight.com:$64.99 for folks in the USA =
August 13, 200619 yr Author Moderator Hi Magic Man,I agree with you as well. In fact I posted a similar complaint a few days ago after seeing Amazon's pricing. It's as though they still think a pound buys you 1.40 instead of 1.80.I will never buy from that company now. I bought FS9 from play.com and I expect they will charge a much fairer price. I'll also compare their UK price to that on their US site and it might even be possible to buy the US one if it proves substantially cheaper. I can buy Region 1 DVDs at present so it shouldn't be a problem.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). August 13, 200619 yr I know we are being ripped off & unfortunately it is our own fault. One of the reasons things are cheap in the US is that it is the worlds biggest market & vitally important to all producers.Europe is still, despite the EU & a lot of talk, a collection of small markets & in the UK we make it even worse by having a small currency. If there was a genuine European market - & for most things this means one European importer rather than national importers etc - and we were all one currency then we would be the worlds largest market & things would change. One day.......In the meantime buy on the world market & forget your local supplier unless they are the same price or better. I rather expect that my FSX will come from the US or Canada as do most of my DVD's CD's etc.Oh & the $64.99 price adjusted for uk import duties & VAT is about
August 13, 200619 yr Author Moderator Chris,If you think those who pay in Euros are getting a better deal on Amazon I must beg to differ. Being in the Euroclub would not benefit this country one iota. Look at how protectionist the French are.Sorry, didn't want to start a political debate. FSX purchasers should shop around. There will be plenty of outlets who will charge more reasonable prices.Sounds like you buy from play.com who ship stuff to Britain from Brussels! Ray (Cheshire, England).
