VA also works better for fast gaming because it responds quicker than IPS. IPS has better colours but suffers from IPS glow. viewing angle is better but that's not really a consideration on monitors. And a good VA will do good colours anyway, providing you're not doing professional graphics editing. I know the difference between VA and IPS panels. There is a reason why IPS are more expensive than VA panels. I rather have my reds as an example look like red vs a variation of red! January 12, 20197 yr @strider1in that case my delta e is 1.91, mostly accrued on red, don't think that;'s too bad for a budget monitor and certainly good enough for any gaming. I know a professional IPS monitor will come well under 1.0 but you pay a lot for those. January 12, 20197 yr If guys ever get the opportunity to test a VA panel next to wide color gamut IPS panel, you never go back to a VA panel! Thats why people love OLEDs its the best of both worlds! AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D, RTX 4080S, Ram - 32GB, 32" 4K Monitor, WIN 11. Eric Escobar
January 12, 20197 yr OLEDs are awesome but not a good idea for monitors because of burn in. And not sure MicroLED will ever get down to typical monitor sizes. If I drag the sim window across both monitors the IPS does look slightly better. But in no way is it a dealbreaker when it comes to gaming or flight simming. Especially since the wide screen was almost three times the cost. Matt Wilson

The grade A panels are going to have the highest color gamut, more contrast, calibration tools, higher nits, etc.... With my asus panel I have the option of SRGB, Adobe RGB, DCI-P3, ASCR, etc.... January 16, 20197 yr I have a 34" 2K asus curved g-sync monitor. I am extremely happy with it and I wouldn't change it BUT I don't use the whole width for P3D and I don't use the 'wide' option within P3D either. I do have a few ancillary programs running (map, etc) in the free space and that arrangement is how I like to have it set up. no advice, just an experience...
January 25, 20197 yr If you can move up the the 38" size ultrawide, I highly recommend it. I just bought the Dell 38" and its amazing for Prepar3d. The 34" is a touch small IMO. I have a 55" sony 4k HDR tv that I fly on some times, and game with. I also installed a 5.1.2 dolby atmos sound system. So as you can image playing Battlefront II is quite the experience. Back on topic... in the end I decided the 55 was a little big sitting on my desk in front of me so I use that for my theater room and use the 38" dell for gaming/simming.
