New FS X Video Preview

Featured Replies

Hope this isn't a repost. Go to around 7 minutes on this video and there is something on FSX. Watching it now so don't know what it's like. http://www.airsidetv.com/main/play.asp?date=7/28/2006Cheerssonicbaz

yeah its new for me, wow looks really greatfrom that it looks like we will be able to tow each other up in the sailplane in mp mode, also the tower mode was impressive, i was surprised to see that much detail in the tower mode. i can hardly waitciao!Brian S

Ciao!

Good preview! He said only 16 planes in multi player (per server), so it's no replacement for VatSim or IVAO.Tower mode looks great. SDK in the box (excellent!)

Lovely find, Sonic. I did note that the player-ATC ability only comes with FSX Delux.

AWSOME video thank you so much !Kind Regards:Alexander

Great find sonicbaz! We can always leave it up to our Avsim.com members do find the great stuff.RH

The video also reveals that it will be possible to land on moving platforms!!! When the dev is talking about missions he shows an image from a mission in which you have to land a plane on a moving truck. I assume that it will finally allow to land on moving ships. I hope all the sea traffic (cruise ships, tankers...) is landable as well.

He also said while in areas like Los Angeles there will be lots of road traffic, there will be very few cars in rural areas. Most rural areal have no Expressways yet he indicated that there will still be road traffic despite being "very few cars there."

I can finally perform my Top Gun impression with a carrier landing. Cool =)

When I try to play it, it just buffers then plays for 2 second then buffers again and repeats that. I have a 10mbps connection so there is plenty of speed.Anyone else having these problems?

Fantastic. :-) And it's only a matter of weeks away.... ..........ok 10 if we saw it early October! :-lol :-lol

Wow. Some one can actually setup a host and just be the ATC control online. I hope they take it one step further. When flying online, FSX will automaticaly connect to the hosting servers by radio frequency or air space location, and if there is no one hosting in that airport or air space, just fault to AI ATC.

Now that would be a feature that would be extremely cool. Fall back to AI ATC, when no controller is online. That would be finally a reasonable solution to flying through uncontrolled space with VATSIM/IVAO and will hopefully re-shuffle the ATC landscape. But from what I read, the FSX multiplayer ATC is only available for tower controllers, unless the wording from MS leaves it open for interpretation.Pat

I don't think that's going to happen. At least in first release. Even for tower controllers, I don't think FS will automatically connect to the hosting server of the destination when you get there. Then again, this is a simple/easy thing to add, but rips big rewards in immersion. However, it might backfire if the guy behind the ATC host server doesn't know anything or intensionally directing planes into a collision course.
