July 24, 200619 yr Yes, very nice. I also noticed that there seems to be two types of shadows: aircraft shadows and other shadows. Unfortunately they don't mix well. Just look at the shadows cast by the planes close to the terminal building and you'll notice they are clearly visible even where the planes themselves are in the shadow.I attached another picture from the same set where you can also see the "effect".I hope this will be fixed before launch. ----------------------------------------------------- i7 920 @ 3.6 GHz; 6Gb DDR3; Windows 7 Ultimate x64; Sim disk=300Gb 10,000rpm (VelociRaptor); OS disk=300Gb 7,200rpm Radeon HD 4870 X2; Audigy 2 ZS; Dual monitors=24" Dell Widescreen (TFT) & 19" BenQ (TFT) FSX Acceleration
July 25, 200619 yr I really hate bragging, but in this case I'm going to do it anyway. Right Now I'm installing fsx beta 1 on vista beta 2. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
July 25, 200619 yr This shots shows the reflections on the terminal windows, very nice indeed:http://www.flightsim.com/feature/fsx1/fsx_7-13-06_129.jpg Bernard
July 25, 200619 yr Hi,No need to brag! You have already broken your NDA. I am sure that if you post anything more you will not get anything besides beta 1 and an escort to the door. Enjoy your beta 1!!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/
July 25, 200619 yr Thanks for the info. If anyone from Microsoft is interested please let me know.BTW, that was your last post here.
July 25, 200619 yr Hi,I believe that the bloggers already stated that shadow handling had not changed from FS2004. If so, then it probably won't be changed.Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
July 25, 200619 yr Man, MS developers are really sensitive and strict toward to releasing any new info. Heck, the A.I. aircrafts in the screenshots don't even have any paints.Just wondering what are the new default A.I. airlines.World Travel is for sure will be there.
July 25, 200619 yr >Hi,>>I believe that the bloggers already stated that shadow>handling had not changed from FS2004. If so, then it probably>won't be changed.>>Hope this helps,If by "not changed from FS2004" you mean "nearly totally rewritten" then yes, you're correct. ;)
July 25, 200619 yr What I am about to say is so important, in my opinion, that I have to first state: I have been for years on Avsim, using Flight Simulator since 1986 (when I was 10). Never posted a comment before...so here it goes:Based on the pictures so far available cloud shadows are nowhere to be seen. There has only been one picture from E3 showing a checkbox in the options menu. As cloud shadows add to the volumetric effect, they are considered an important feature. Are they going to be included in the final version of FSX?Elias
July 25, 200619 yr ...and a person like that, shouldn't be beta'ing any software, much less FSX. I can think of many many people here at AVSIM who have way more than 8 posts, who would make better beta testers...and they would keep their NDA's. :)Rhett Rhett 7800X3D ♣ 96 GB G.Skill Flare ♣ Gigabyte 4090 ♣ Crucial P5 Plus 2TB
