Swiss Hang Gliding Mishap (Not for faint hearted!)

So my cousin sent me a Youtube vid of crazy people climbing towers to dizzying heights bare-handed and otherwise acting crazy, and I went to Youtube to send her back something crazier, if I could.

Instead, I found this. 😲

Strangely enough, the climbing vids left me neutral, but this curled my toes, perhaps because I could more easily imagine myself inadvertently in a situation like this, whereas I would never climb one of those towers, buildings, bridges, etc.

As a trike pilot in real life some years ago I appreciate this video, it is hard to watch but reminds me of the time when I took off with my CFI and unforecasted 20 knot gusty winds aloft came up and shook us around.  But my CFI knew I was cool headed and he thought it was the perfect time for me to practice Trike S-Turns and turns around a point, which I did to his satisfaction, then he panicked fearing ferocious winds at his private airstrip in Brenda AZ. 

But I stayed cool and guided the trike down to the landing strip, opposite to the direction we took off from as the winds had shifted 180 degrees but were perfectly in my face and I was able to land his stricken trike on a dime, just as I had anticipated. 

It was the only time in my life I had to calm down a CFI and the last time I flew with him, you do not want to fly with a CFI who panics, it is better to fly with a CFI like Star Trek's Spock or Lieutenant Commander Data before he got his emotion chip..

I have seen this before, but what I have never seen is the GoPro mounted on the front looking back. Not that I want to see the look of death I am so happy they came out fine but yea, their is another camera with footage never seen. I really hope for a positive outcome after the fact and the operator either stops operating or puts systems and solutions to prevent this ever again
