I'm on 1809 lastes built. S. Hello Simbol, what about .Net? Prepar3D is a .Net application, and 4.4 was based in 4.7.2 . Maybe just maybe the new 4.5 build has something in it so you need exactly that version, while 4.4. somehow still worked with 4.6.x or even 4.5.x? Unfortunaltey there is no information about .Net prerequisites anywhere in the P3D docs or spec. Best regards Edited April 10, 20197 yr by Lorby_SI LORBY-SI

Best regards Hi Oliver, This is a good suggestion, my understanding is that 4.5 is .NET 4.7.2 and the new installer will perform the installation of the .NET libraries on your behalf. In any case the .NET 4.7.2 runtime installer can be downloaded from here: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/thank-you/net472 So guys can we try to install this manually and see if the problem get's resolved? Although I have seem users now reporting they have formatted their entire PCs and the problem persists.. if this is true then it is quite puzzling. All I can think of is: * Audio devices / drivers * OS builds - although people on multiple builds are experiencing this. * Specific hardware related incompatibility issues. I haven't seen P3D installing anything WRT to .Net, at least not obvioulsy - maybe they forgot something that is present on my devel system (which works fine) that has the full 4.7.2 (and many others - so I can't really troubleshoot this). But I admit, this is a bit far fetched. What about Event logs or even the P3D content error log (could be activated in the Prepar3d.cfg, Section [Main], ContentErrorReporting=1 before starting the sim). Event logs are not useful since P3D just hangs forever until you kill it. I was unable to enable the content error log due to the lack of the GUI since P3D never load, can you remind me again how to do it via P3D.cfg directly? @LecLightning56 please install the .NET 4.7.2 manually and see: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/thank-you/net472 Regards, S. Missing/wrong graphics/Math/Whatever library due to outdated .Net framework... Yes, I really want it to be that simple. But it probably isn't. My GPU is not overclocked, but unfortunately uninstalling this tool has not changed anything. Interesting, however, that the tool also crashed at the same time. that tool will give you dxdiag CTDS if you have a 1080ti strix.
April 11, 20197 yr I think they found the problem worked for me Add this to CFG [STARTUP]LoadVirtualReality = 0 Cheers

This worked for me. I understand there may be VR problems with the Oculus Rift as stated on the Prepar3D forum, but I don't use VR anyway so this does not worry me. Thanks a million for your input. Also, so much for the overly pedantic approach we all seem to follow in order to thoroughly cleanse one's system and ensure a successful installation. Total tosh I am afraid to say in this instance which is so evidently a LM-related issue. @simbol many thanks indeed for your tireless efforts and at least we have a temporary fix which should hopefully address most issues: I somehow thought this was a LM-related issue, but it has not hurt forcing me to tidy things up and do a full reinstallation!
