Maybe I've missed something, but as far as I know, MS hasn't shown any public previews yet of cities that use only autogen buildings where they don't have photogrammetry data.

Here are some cities we’ve been shown that don’t have photogrammetry:

  • Brisbane, Australia
  • Sydney, Australia
  • Dubai, UAE
  • Seoul, South Korea
  • São Paulo, Brazil
  • Newcastle, UK
  • London, UK
  • Lisbon, Portugal
  • Porto, Portugal
  • Paris, France

A list of non-photogrammetry places in general that they’ve shown us so far can be found here:

Don't forget they also showed off Seattle without satellite, but just autogen enabled in one of the early Featured videos.

But the question of all questions is:

Is the Leaning Tower of Pisa crooked in the Sim too?

If Azure can do that, Azure can do it all!

I wouldn’t be surprised if the tower was one if the hand built models, since it’s a famous landmark.

Will the Eiffel Tower grow 6 inches on a hot day? If not its clearly a no buy.

Considering that Asobo is based in France, I expect nothing less. 😉

Absolutely, we keep it that way otherwise tourists woudn't come anymore.

It was already there with older Microsoft titles too, so that's a good thing 🙂 Sadly missing in XP11 except for a third party addon which also implements it.

Yeah when I bought XP11 I was severely disappointed at the default (non-airport) scenery when compared to FSX/P3D.

They have done so see this earlier post:

Here is an example from the Discovery series Ep 1. It's from Papa New Guinea although I wasn't able to find the exact place on Bing maps I am of the understanding it's not 3D mapped and this is all generated by AI.

Found that location. it's near Wewak.

Here's what it looks like in earth view 3d

I've just come across a city which has photogrammetry in Bing Maps but that's not on the list of 3d cities. It's Offenbach am Main, a neighbouring town of Frankfurt (Germany). Does anybody happen to know whether this is new? Maybe someone who checked out Frankfurt in Bing Maps in the past? I think one would have noticed it as Offenbach is directly adjacent to Frankfurt.

Marseille, Hamburg and Bremen are also not in the list I believe but are photogrammetry. The addition of Offenbach is weird, since places like Frankfurt, Mainz and Wiesbaden (also closeby) are not 3d.

No idea what their selection criteria are but it is slightly weird indeed. Why Offenbach and not Frankfurt? Nothing against Offenbach but it makes no sense to me at all.

The three cities you mentioned are not on the list in Earth View but they are listed in Maps. That‘s why I was wondering.
