July 22, 20196 yr I have both running on my system and notice that I get some stutters when landing on the 28's/27's during the day right around 1000ft. Night time landings and day landings east seem fine. Anyone else notice this and have an idea of what could cause this? I run Tomato Shade, FSlabs, Active Sky, Orbx NA. My settings are from Blackbox (https://blackbox.oneengineout.com/settings-overview/my-settings/) and my PC specs are below: Operating System: Windows 10 Home Edition (64-Bit) Chassis: CM Storm Scout II Advanced w/ Side Window Black Motherboard: ASRock Z170 Professional, Intel LGA 1151 Processor: Intel 6th Gen Core i7 6700K (4.6GHz Overclock) Quad Core CPU Cooling: Corsair Hydro Series H60 Liquid Cooling System Memory: 16GB Kingston DDR4 SDRAM 2400MHz Graphics Processor: 6GB Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060, PCI Express 3.0 System Power: 750 Watt Corsair RM Series Power Supply Sound Card: 7.1 High Definition Integrated Audio Primary Solid State Drive: 500GB Samsung EVO 850 Solid State Drive (SSD) Secondary Hard Drive: None Selected Optical Drive: 20x DVD/CD Burner Drive Networking: 802.11n Wireless Desktop Network Card Intel Core i7 12700K (5.0GHz Max Boost Clock) 12-Core CPU 32GB G.Skill Performance DDR4 SDRAM 3600MHz Graphics Processor:12GB Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, GDDR6x System 2TB Western Digital, NVMe M.2 Solid State Drive
July 23, 20196 yr Depending on your scenery distance setting, this may be the point where it loads the downtown Chicago scenery, which is extremely demanding. It’s so demanding that I had to disable it as my computer can’t cope with it. P3D is always prone to stutters when loading large scenery files.
July 23, 20196 yr Just my $.02 here - 6gb of vram isn't a lot when we're talking about very detailed scenery and planes. Suspect yours is being overloaded in this situation. It will be affected more during the day because of lighting and shadows. Even my 11gb of vram gets overloaded when approaching ord. Same with DD NYC X.

Just happened to do a flight to KORD last night and right as you approach the runway it does a quick pause and then you see the silhouette of DT chicago appear. FYI... I have yet to purchase DD chicago X or airport X. But it is next on my list...This was only with ORBX global in that region. Same with DD NYC X. I don't really agree with you. While it's not enough for 4K, it's plenty for P3D,considering it's mostly the cpu that does the job, and the gpu that loads shades. When you see black textures is when you know you lack vram. My system specs: Core 2 quad Q9650 @ 3.51ghz, GTX1060 6gb, 8gb ddr3 1333, 1Tb seagate barracuda, 500gb wd blue
