October 2, 20196 yr Did anyone spot the J3 Cub with floats in the preview (on the menu screen)? Bernard
October 2, 20196 yr Author Interesting bump up ! We’ve learned a lot since July 30th ! The teasers we’ve seen so far have answered most of my wishes. The coastal areas look absolutely stunning. The effect of the wind on waves also (see Kevin Miller’s comments on the Renton water runway). Now, if we could see a floatplane real close taking off... October 2, 20196 yr It's a fictitious name that some of the Avsim community have given to Microsoft's forthcoming Flight Simulator. Other made up names are FS2020, MS2020, FSXX & a few others. Thankfully, as it is seen the dev interviews, this is one suggestion that Microsoft have not taken up, & they & their partners call the sim by it's correct name. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... October 2, 20196 yr I'm curious as to how the water is handled by MSFS. On the Goose Redux they did a good job at splash/wave effects. Edited October 2, 20196 yr by TuFun
October 2, 20196 yr Since the world is not modelled according to the devs, but rather real time streaming data rendering with a few gazillion bits of data from all over the place, and with the advent of using utilities like 'Windy', I dont see how its a problem with getting all that data regarding water as well. Heck you look on 'Windy' and aside from upper atmosphere data, you have a ton of info on water including temps, swells, wave height and frequency, wind etc. Im sure all that data could be extrapolated into the sim. The issue would probably be what kind of hit it takes in addition to everything else being rendered. But I could see a different subworld being expanded on in the future for say water simulation in the sim world, that includes boats, ships, floatplanes, and everything else in between. But think this would all be looked at after a few years of the airplane sim world being rather mature. CYVR LSZH I7-14700k 64gb 6000Mhz DDR5 ASUS z690 ROG STRIX Gaming RTX 4080 Super,

Much to do to improve what we have now in the FS family of products. Just now, HighTowers said: . Thisi s what the P3D has apparently in mind for its defense customers. I know fellas! 😀 I was trying to stimulate the community to only use the official name Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) I also dislike all this name calling 😐 And as well I'm very curious of the way MSFS will handle behavior of float planes! Or a nice Beaver 😊 We have so much to discuss and not to agree on 😉, my dear, that we need a word fight on how to call FS20 ? On a lighter side, when you pronounce MFS in French it sounds a little funny like "et mes fesses" which would translate as "and my buttock" whch is a mild profanity. Any floatplane would ne nice if they improve the way the sim handles the water. We have nice aircraft already but lifting them out of the water feels a bit simplistic. The water itself is not very good in P3D (swell, waves, etc.) Edited October 2, 20196 yr by domkle Dominique Simming since 1981 - [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

The water itself is not very good in P3D (swell, waves, etc.) Well, as far as I'm concerned something is called what it is called. In this case Microsoft Flight Simulator. But that second thing you say. Oh dear, very troubling! That's why the French should use the abbreviation MSFS, unless that will put them in an even more awkward position lol By the way, we fully agree on that water thingy. Better simulation of contact points with water would be a large plus. As suggested in the videos the team has already improved on ground friction a lot, so who knows what they'll come up with regarding water surfaces 👍 Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
October 2, 20196 yr Now we are talking... Float planes, any really, in the kind of water that we've seen so far, in bad weather, with 1000 points per surface.. Imagine that vintage Avro Tutor with floats, Grumman Goose.. Robin "Onward & Upward" ... To the Stars, & Beyond...
