On the slim chance that the captain of the Etihad Boeing 787 Dreamliner which I was talking to on the headset yesterday whilst pushing it out sees this, I just want to give him a shout out for making me laugh and cheering me up.

As is common with big jets like that, as it got loaded, the weight of all the ULDs and cargo pallets and fuel etc causes the tires to pin the chocks in place so they cannot be removed (usually the ones behind the main gear tires), necessitating us pulling the aircraft forward with the tug a bit, in order to free them up prior to the pushback. So I said to him, we're gong to have to pull you off the chocks, thus advising him of the move and to have him release the parking brake so we could do this. Quick as a flash he came back with 'Excellent. It's not often you get the offer of being 'pulled off' the moment you arrive for work, is it?' 🤣

The first thing I'm thinking of is removed from duty. I'm now about 24% sure that this is correct. I'm almost convinced there's another meaning to this.

I knew straight away what it meant but I couldn't decide whether to let it ride or spank Chock and laugh.
