I don‘t know where dune 45 is but yes, it is definitely in Namibia (see page 36 in this thread).

It is in fact right on the opposite site of the valley depicted in the picture, not in frame. I didn't find it before because I was looking at satelite image in Google and that is slightly different.

But now I looked at Bing and found it

This has to be offline mode or low detail mode. That mountain in the background (Lassen Peak) looks like in Bing Maps when zoomed out. Normally it should look much better.
