Recently, I used Nvidia Inspector to add 4xSGSS and the results are stunning. No more PBR shimmering. FPS above 30 pretty much everywhere all the time, even at night. Same here. PBR airports like KMIA or KORD definitely need SGSS. Without SGSS, PBR shimmering is too strong, even with 8xSSAA. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).

I'm on 4x MSAA now with FXAA on to smooth things out somewhat. In daytime without too much weather, you can probably pull if off. Add in heavy clouds and/or precip, or dynamic lighting at night, and it's likely you'll see 100% GPU load and a major stutterfest. One big problem with SGSS is that it has to be set outside the sim before you start, so if you fly into conditions that hammer your GPU performance because of it, you can't just change it on the fly in P3D like you can switching between MSAA and SSAA. Thanks for the information but I was asking about SSAA, not SGSS? Eric
August 31, 20196 yr The RTX2080 is a beast of a card but SSAA is less taxing then MSAA so it should be slightly smoother. I run 8X MSAA as I don't like the flickering in the distance.
