Newsflash, but a lot of the USA still has very slow internet speeds.

As does most of the rest of the world! Very fast internet connections are far from being the norm - see https://www.cable.co.uk/broadband/speed/worldwide-speed-league/ for average speeds worldwide. Remember that, statistically at least, half of the people in these countries have less than the average speeds.

It's just a thumbsuck name. among others, that the community have taken upon themselves, in their wisdom, have given, to what Microsoft has officially named their new flight sim called Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Other names you might see are FS2020, FS20, MFS20 & other 'odd' madeup names.

I've been calling it "Fred"

Did you manage to find if there is a minimum or suggested internet speed for internet flight for their live scenery? I tried searching for that but i coudn't find much.

I looked too because I was curious, but didn't find anything about minimum required connection speed. I think their assumption is that if you can run other apps on a current smartphone like YouTube, then there is enough bandwidth for what they're doing. They're calling it "HD" resolution, but clearly the actual orthos are blurry and low-res if you get close enough.

On the minimmum requirements it just asks for an internet connection, Wi-fi or mobile. As I said, it's not demanding. But yes, you are right, their orthos seem low resolution.

Newsflash, but a lot of the USA still has very slow internet speeds.  It's not the fault of the people who live there, it's simply due to bad infrastructure.  I have 10Mbit DSL (it actually measures 7Mbit)

Um maybe you should have asked me what I consider "that bad".

So, what do you consider "that bad"?

Remember that Microsoft Flight Simulator will be released for Xbox & PC!

Gamespot has revealed that it is said, so far, that there will be 2x Xbox versions, 12GB & 16GB RAM, both with a 1TB drive.

So, that seems to indicate that scenery will be streamed to the Xbox, as well as other stuff for their new games.

Just sayin'

Something that'll prevent you from streaming 1080p content reliably. I think a lot of us are overestimating what FS2020 will need.

I know scenery will be streamed but i don't see how what you said indicates that.
