Some really interesting observations from a guy who sees things at a different level than most of us.

Apologies if it’s already been posted elsewhere, I started a thread because this guy doesn’t get the hype of the other people and he’s observing things none of the rest have them have.

One the conclusions I draw is that repainting aircraft will be for the pros 😏.

Me too lol. I liked the observation on the rivets being polygons rather than part of a massive texture, and the impact that will have on performance. I think it’s all the little things like that that will add up to make this perform like a modern game.

The waves bit was a great observation though and pretty impressive if that is what is happening.

Some interesting insight here, quite a bit of which I haven't seen anyone else pick up on (waves on sheltered water, rivets and detailing) Takes a while for him to get going though!

This guys was an Aces developer wasn't he? So he really does know what he's talking about.  I love this kind of technical analysis.

Well, I can’t hover a heli so hovering a polygon sounds daunting 😏

It's not that complex it's probably just a map where you paint details on it...., when working in 3DS max and moving more then a million polygones it can be a bit more complex 🤣

Now that heli is a different story 😂

If anything it sounds like it will be easier, if all the detailing is within the model the texture has a lot less layers. And less to line up between textures too

Sincerely hoping you're right.

Thats a pretty interesting analysis of the footage. No one has covered with that perspective to my knowledge. The little details that regular users would not normally notice, especially with quick scenes is all pointed out, and with promising future.

Thanks for pointing out that video
