Rather than looking like a tan desert, it looks like snow 😞 It used to be fine (I fly in predominately desert areas being in Tucson, so I know what it is supposed to look like) then something changed in 4.4 (or maybe 4.3). They are way overexposed. If I try to turn down the HDR brightness, everything gets dark but the desert is back..... I've also tried turning off HDR with no success. Apparently, one can't get LM's attention to this. PTA doesn't -- with any preset (such as Adam's or Gerald's) -- help unless there is a setting for desert areas I don't know about. If anybody is a graphics expert, I am willing to try any suggestions. I would like to see what the photoscenery looks like outside of P3D -- is there anyway to convert a bgl to a viewable graphics format or directly display the bgl outside of P3D? Screen shots on request of the problem. It appears we are both in EXACTLY the same predicament. October 3, 20196 yr Hey Harold -- have you installed HF2? For some reason, the overexposures seem to be less, I haven't changed any video settings and am not using PTA -- only the default shaders (since PTA isn't updated yet). Thing is that I don't consider meddling with shaders a fix. If one wants to take that route and it solves the issue then I'm completely okay with that. That doesn't mitigate that fact that scenery is incompatible in core level.

Yes, I was referring to my monthly presets. The issue with overexposed PR scenery is there for 2 years now and I don’t think that it will be solved . Also the Cloudslighting is off so when I started correcting that I also did the Terrain and Shadows. But as december and june needed values that were very different, I did it in small steps per month. Now it looks very good. I agree that it would have been easier if LM would fix these issues.... Gerard, forgive me, but I'm a little confused as to what you are saying. Are you suggesting you have created a shader to correct this issue? If so, would you be kind enough to post the process I need to follow to prevent this issue from appearing again. October 4, 20196 yr Commercial Member As one who develops photoreal scenery, we noticed this issue around the release of P3Dv4.4 as well. At airport KABQ. But not all of the beta testers were seeing it? I would check desert areas in Summer at high noon and indeed some of the lightest textures would "wash out". To help compensate, we would adjust/color correct our textures' colors before processing to reduce the effect. It did help but on the other side we found adjusting one's display settings could help further reduce the wash out. For example, my displays allow for different view settings such as "gaming", night time, and I have one that I use for "deserts". Seems to work good as a work around. But it's not just photoreal. If you go to the default KABQ airport you can see several of the white tarmacs wash out at summer/noon time. For one, you could make things worse for rest of the computer usage if you can't set different profiles and then switch them accordingly. Troubleshooting by picture also becomes meaningless because if you take a screenshot then what is captured is a raw data coming from graphics processor and does not include adjustments processed by your monitor. What you see in your monitor could become very different from what you post in the internet and what others see. Edited October 4, 20196 yr by Evros
