October 3, 20196 yr I don't know if this questions has already been asked, but that is imo what is currently still missing in todays simulators, with respect to immersion: Plants (trees, grass) that are animated in conjunction with wind speed and direction it destroys the realism totally if you are on a windy day at a airport and all trees around you are completely static Rain / snow on aircraft's surfaces and scenery objects. Snow / water on taxiways, runways that gets affected by wind or engine thrust output. FSX has already ship traffic on oceans but unfortunately the draw distance is too low to see them from 30.000 ft or higher. Especially ship lights at night should be visible from a much greater distance. Edited October 4, 20196 yr by charliearon at OP's request

The graphics engine has the capability to do it. 3rd party devs will probably create a zoo if they get enough requests. Specs: I9-13900K, RTX 4090, 32gb Ram |Headsets: HP Reverb

But as a frequent bush flyer, landing on strips with no sock, It would be indeed welcome to see the trees bend to the wind. On the other hand, no sock makes feeling for the wind... interesting 😉. By writing "it totally destroys" the realism I don't mean this makes the sim useless, but such seemingly insignificant things are destroying imo the illusion of "beeing really there". But if you are taxing or parking at the gate, there is time enough to perceive such details especially if you are using a ga aircraft on a small airfield. Edited October 3, 20196 yr by mdsim
October 3, 20196 yr Birds are only seen when they crash through the windscreen and you are spitting out feathers as you bust into flames. Not all birds are evil and suicidal. And from the videos they've mentioned the blades of grass move with the wind. But hopefully better than was done with the animated trees in fsx as that just brought your computer to its knees
October 3, 20196 yr I see hawks pretty often in real life. Sometimes first think they are other airplanes because they tend to be gliding and fairly stable looking from a distance. Edited October 3, 20196 yr by bonchie

You dont see them unless you actually click a button that turns on bird strikes.
