September 7, 200619 yr With brilliant minds out there and the advancements of technology, a framerate boosting utility for FSX shouldn't be an unattainable dream - it could be in works somewhere and comming soon near you and me!
September 7, 200619 yr A framerate boosting solution is to wait 12-24 month before buying FSX, at that time you will probably get acceptable fps with a brand new pc.

September 7, 200619 yr Simmers? Moving sliders to the left? It's life, Jim, but not as we know it! :-wave Allcott
September 7, 200619 yr 1. No one knows what FPS they will get with FSX because they don't have the final version.2. Like most upgrade versions of FS - mid-level sliders in the new version will give you the same basic display quality as full sliders in the old version.3. Microsoft/ ACES greatly increased the autogen in FSX - A full right slider in FSX is almost 200% of the same autogen setting in FS2004 if I read the information correctly.Do you really expect to add a 200% increase in objects and maintain the same FPS?Yes I want real forests rather than a few trees - but just like adding 200% more AI traffic, or 200% more buildings - 200% more trees is going to take a LOT more processor and graphics processor to display.
September 7, 200619 yr >It's called "Use the Mouse and Move the Sliders to the>Left".> Oh, NO - That's not me! I aspire the quality as that in the official screenshots but with absolutely smooth performance even with lots of addons! Couldn't there right now a computer capable to deliever that ... at what price? anyone knows?Antecipated Thanks

September 7, 200619 yr 3. Microsoft/ ACES greatly increased the autogen in FSX - A full right slider in FSX is almost 200% of the same autogen setting in FS2004 if I read the information correctly. The autogen density in FSX is 1000% of that in FS9. :( Bernard
September 8, 200619 yr Author >With brilliant minds out there and the advancements of>technology, a framerate boosting utility for FSX shouldn't be>an unattainable dream - it could be in works somewhere and>comming soon near you and me!I already have my own frame rate booster. It's called a new system. Details as follows.Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 O/C'd to 3.2 GhzThermalright XP-120 coolerAsus P5W DH Deluxe MB2 GB Kingston PC6400 HyperX RamSapphire ATI Radeon X1900XTX videoS-ATA hard drivesSB Audigy2 sound cardThis new system runs FS9 maxed with FS genesis mesh(9, 38 and 76m) and 3rd party addons at a fluid 30fps(locked) and it never dips below this. I haven't tried it unlocked as it's so fluid right now. Even when using the LDS767 with Lago Rome 2004 which brought my previous setup to its knees this new system doesn't budge from 30fps.Now with FSX Beta3(yes I'm a valid tester)this new system is giving me 30-40 fps with all but the following maxed. Water effects reduced to High1x as this is what's eating frame rates badly. No shadows on own aircraft. AI airliner traffic at 60% and civil traffic at 20%. All ground traffic at 50%. Mesh at 38m. Ground textures at 60cm. The lowest frame rate I had was 20-24 at EGLL sitting on the runway.I know I'll be upgrading the video card due to DX10 but that won't be for a while if I'm getting performance like this already.Cheers,JohnBoeing 727/737 & Lockheed C-130/L-100 Mechanichttp://www.sstsim.com/images/team/JR.jpg
