You guys are right about some stores having it before others. Someone posted up here about Office Depot having FS9 before the release date. I went, they did. Hey Reggie - I live in the Dallas area too. It's been my experience that Frys is a little slower on new releases...but good luck and Happy Birthday!

I had it pre-ordered from Wal Mart which said Oct 3rd. I got an email tonight saying that the release date has changed to Oct 17th. :-(What's the best pre-order deal anyone has seen out there?

Yep, just checked there site and it has changed to the 17th. Oh well, we've been waiting since January I think we're capable of waiting two more weeks.

Hi,Not sure how MS are copy protecting FSX, but I would have thought that if they were really serious about preventing physical sales prior to their official release date, all they would have to do is require activation of the product over the Internet in the same way we all have to activate XP. This method could be modified to ensure noone could activate FSX prior to October 17. Simple really, so why haven't they done it ;)Mike

Just went to the site and this is what it says now (10-27-06) COMING SOONPreorder this item today and it should ship on 10/17/2006

That's exactly what they've done Mike. Activation just like XP.Doug

"That's exactly what they've done Mike. Activation just like XP."...ah, but is activation date dependent? If so, then they have indeed covered all the bases and I take my hat off to them!Regards,MikeEdit: Still, I don't suppose any of this really matters. A sale is a sale whenever it occurs.

>> Just went to the site and this is what it says now>(10-27-06)>> COMING SOON>Preorder this item today and it should ship on 10/17/2006What site would that be? Walmart.com still says October 17th.

Hmmmm...hadn't thought about the date-sensitive thing. Not a bad idea. I wonder of they included it?Doug
