Manually installing scenery in P3D

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Could somebody tell me how add scenery in P3D. In FSX we just drop the file in Addon Scenery folder and add it in the setting menu. But in P3D i see any Addon scenery folder.

Thanks.

It is way better use Lorby's Freeware Addon Tool to install manual sceneries and not load files into the root directory (like some players out there who do not follow proper SDK).

You can have the sceneries outside the sim root directory with the new P3Dv4 addon method

I have tried Lorby's tool and it is very good for some things like positioning, however I have tried to add various scenery's such as Taxi2Gate KMCO Orlando and LTBA Istanbul or Aerosoft Munich and get only jetways and no terminals or rest of scenery. I have tried both XML and scenery cfg method with same result. Granted these scenery's were for FSX but should work in P3Dv4

I would assume that you could install your scenery anywhere, and then simply add the location to your Scenery Library. It does not need to be in the Addon Scenery folder.

"My Documents/Prepar3d v4 Add-ons" folder can be used just as the FSX/Addons folder.

That is 100% correct.
