February 10, 20206 yr Good evening! I have recently switched to a 45" 4k Sony Tv, but my frames are horrible. I get around 12-20 at EKCH at daytime in a NGXu, and at night around 4-8. My question is, are my specs simply not up to date? or is the low fps related to the TV? In both cases, what would you suggest upgrading, because at this state its almost impossible to have a stable experience. I should also state that all my sliders are low-mid, and i use 2xmsaa. And my resolution is 3840x2160x32 which is native to the TV. Specs: GTX 1050TI Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz 16GB DDR3 Usual Addons: Orbx Global Envtex Envshade Active sky PMDG 737 NGXu Thank you in advance
February 10, 20206 yr Your system is pretty dated to be running P3D @4k. Exspecially the graphic card which only has 4gb of VRAM which will instantly get filled running at that resolution
February 10, 20206 yr Moderator Agreed. If you are going to upgrade anything and run at 4K - get a new video card with more VRAM. Then try overclocking or a faster processor. Vic RIG#1 - I9 14900K MSI Pro z790 RTX 5070Ti 40" 4K Monitor 3840x2160
February 11, 20206 yr I think 1920×1080 look at lot better than on a 3840x2160 display than it does on native 1920×1080 native display. So even if you did nothing I think you are better than you where. But for sure you need VRAM for 4K. Probably at least 6gb but you should aim for 8gb +
February 11, 20206 yr That processor at 3.4 ghz is also going to suffer. If you could o/c it to 4+ ghz that would help. Edited February 11, 20206 yr by JasonPC
February 11, 20206 yr Download the free GPUZ utillity (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) I bet both GPU and memory load will be at 100% AMD 7 7700X, 32GB DDR5, RTX 5060ti 16GB, 2 x Samsung 1TB NVMe, 1 x 4TB sata SSD, Windows 11 Prof
February 11, 20206 yr Well, if you unlock the FPS in the sim, either CPU or GPU will at 100%, depending where your bottleneck is. You have to view CPU cores, rather than total. Edited February 11, 20206 yr by SimonC
February 11, 20206 yr 1050ti cards are targeted at HD resolution not 4k. Even my 1080ti struggles at 4k.
