February 26, 20206 yr I have the sim on an ssd and data on the HDD. Sim has lots of small files that load which SSD's specialize in maxing the read speed of compared to spinning platers.
February 26, 20206 yr Don't use Avast if you value your privacy. https://www.pcmag.com/news/the-cost-of-avasts-free-antivirus-companies-can-spy-on-your-clicks As for the original question, install Windows + P3D on your SSD. Install REX on the HDD, since most textures wont be used by the sim (only the set you choose will - which REX will copy to the P3D folder on the SSD when you install the theme anyway). Install other "large" software that you don't really need to be super fast on your HDD. Edited February 26, 20206 yr by WillsB3 Wills
February 26, 20206 yr Agree... the free default Windows Security is highly rated. Use it. My P3D is installed to c:\P3D\P3Dv4 and I'm ready for v5 which will go into c:\P3D\P3Dv5. All addons are on my d: drive, a 2TB SSD (really not expensive) but a HDD will not impact performance but only slightly longer loading times according to Orbx. The only addons' I have on the system drive are those required to be there such as PMDG stuff. Of course things such as ActiveSky and SODE also need to be on the system drive but those do not take significant space. Use Orbx Central to set up a library on your HDD and most of it will go there with a very small amount required to be within the P3D structure. Dan Downs KCRP
