April 24, 20206 yr Is there any way to turn up the volume on the Air Traffic Control. I already have the volume set to 100% on the Options - General - Sound. I have the engine sound at 20% and Environment and cockpit at 99%. The only thing that's really loud is the engines. If it wasn't for the ATC text I wouldn't have any idea what is being said. I have seen a couple of other posts about this issue but no fixes that make any difference. Is there a sound adjustment for ATC in any of the cfg files? i7 8700K CPU @ 4.8 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 3000 memory, Gigabyte Aorus Z370 MB, EVGA RTX 2060 Super XC Ultra GPU 8GB GDDR6 Memory, MasterAir MA610P CPU cooler, 1T PCIe NVMe SSD, 500GB SSD, 2T HDD, 3 Asus 24" monitors, Saitek X56 Rhino H.O.T.A.S., Altec Surround Sound System.
April 24, 20206 yr I had this problem a while ago. Turned out for me com1 was turned down for some reason.
April 24, 20206 yr I've had this problem come and go for the last year or so. I'm sure it was the Windows updates changing things. There have been lots of sound related changes. Sometimes, changing the "Default format" setting under advanced options for my speakers helps me. No particular setting. I currently have it set to "32 bit 48000 Hz (Studio Quality)" after the last time it had the low volume problem. i9-10850K, ASUS TUF GAMING Z490-PLUS (WI-FI), 32GB G.SKILL DDR4-3603 / PC4-28800, GIGABYTE RTX5080 16GB WF OC 3 FAN running 3440x1440
April 24, 20206 yr Author I solved this problem by turning the engine sound down to 5% and adjusting environmental and cockpit sound to 80%, leaving the voice at 100% and cranking up the main PC volume significantly. This turned out to be a good mix. Voices are now easily heard. I just need to remember to turn down the main volume when I shut down the simulator. i7 8700K CPU @ 4.8 GHz, 32 GB DDR4 3000 memory, Gigabyte Aorus Z370 MB, EVGA RTX 2060 Super XC Ultra GPU 8GB GDDR6 Memory, MasterAir MA610P CPU cooler, 1T PCIe NVMe SSD, 500GB SSD, 2T HDD, 3 Asus 24" monitors, Saitek X56 Rhino H.O.T.A.S., Altec Surround Sound System.

Despite a complete new, recent Windows 10 x64 Pro clean install, the sound in P3D v4.5 will, all of a sudden after half an hour just go off. Have to kickstart a website's radio player just to get the sound back. I fully concur with you, it's a Windows Updates whatever they have screwed up. And even before it is suggested, my soundcard (Realtek on-board are the latest) drivers. It's so damned annoying, and this was supposed to be the end-all of Windows, huh/ Never had this issue raise its ugly head in Windows 7x64 Pro!😡 Edited April 24, 20206 yr by vc10man spelling check Rick Almeida
April 25, 20206 yr Maybe it's the same issue I had with RC4. Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Sound -> Communications (tab): Click "Mute all other sounds" and click "Apply". Than click "Do nothing" and click Apply. Than click OK. This solved my issue with barely audible ATC. Tomaz Drnovsek My FSX Videos My AVSIM Gallery
April 25, 20206 yr I have the same problem and I do not even have a communication channel. I just have the default channel servicing my 5.1 Logitech hardware. Works great in every other game. Karl i9-9900K@5,0 | 32GB 3200 | 2080TI | 4K 55" | MSFS | P3D V5
