Tony,

I noticed one airport out of place just south east of KSNA. I'll post at the FTX forum.

Well...here I go...at John Wayne...in XP11.41...and I'm impressed with the FPS readings....just a couple less in OpenGL than Vulkan in .50b6!

Ready now for some fun exploring the coast...and beyond...up...up, and away...

Got S. Cali to finally show up....Central really screwed up my prior .cfg...and placed my Ortho4XP overlay about ten files up from where it needed to be...and that was preventing H.D. S. Cali from displaying. Here it is now..

Tony,

You hit a home run with SoCal. FPS are between 25-30 in all major cities and I have all important sliders to the right. Weather is basic for now because all I want to do is explore:

Jose...where did Central install the files in your Scenery.cfg???   I'm also running the Central latest fast track version...   From your shots,  there is no way that I am seeing a H.D.  S.Cali installation in XP11.41

Tony...just a couple of NOTAMS.

1.  Lots of trees in building autogen..up through the roof...and covering lots of the beaches around John Wayne...

You might want to look into that...for it doesn't seem that the forestry was 'hand placed' as advertised in other T.E. releases...take a look around below the plane...industrial white roofs are plastered with invasive trees! No exclusion zones working here?  Just wondering...and if you look just ahead of the plane...the entire subdivisions are overrun with trees, obscuring the autogen.

Tony...something is seriously wrong here...trees everywhere...misplaced, San Diego...on concrete, tarmacs...and S.Cali is above all my Global tree/forestry in the Scenery...and isn't T.E. exclusive?  That is does not allow any other forestry product to run within it?   Tony, can you comment?  Thanks...

Tony. is THIS Orbx T.E. Southern California?  It is installed with all my other T.E. products...but this can't be the product, can it?!?!?!??  Please comment...

My video for the newly released orbx TrueEarth US Southern California SD for X-Plane 11

This is not what has installed upon my system...not at all.  The H.D. looks nothing like this...as my screen shots demonstrate. I believe that S.C. HD is not properly installing on my system. Other's are having problems as well on the Orbx site...

Where in your Scenery.cfg file has the three folders installed?

This doesn't look correct at all, it seems you have some other scenery installed putting trees everywhere? Do you have that US trees addon released a few months ago installed

I am really enjoying TE SoCal for XP11.40. This one (like most TE regions) is also worthy of an award. Congrats on an excellent scenery.

Hi Tony...no to that US Trees..but what happened after taking a step by step look...was that with the S.Cali CENTRAL install, my Orhtho4XP Overlay in the Scenery.cfg was moved ten up from where it needed to be.  I saw that after pulling out the last three hairs on my head!  I then replaced it back down just above all my Ortho4XP shortcuts...and finally...on the next run,  Orbx S. Cali showed up. So, I figure that I was getting a morph of my created Ortho4XP Cali tiles and the Orbx product/region.

All is good now...and thanks for responding.  Consider this 'ticket'...closed! 🙂

Cheers,

Do we need to delete ortho4xp and Forkboy2 for the Orbx regions?

Cheers

How big a download is this? This looks massive!

The SD version if about 50 gig, but it's worth every gig. I did another tour flight with real weather enabled and I was just mind boggled by what I was seeing and feeling. Flying around the mountains it was bumpy then as you went away from the mountains, it became smooth. I normally fly in TE FL, but this is a different level of enjoyment. I have to post some picks because talk is cheap.

Update

HD version: ZL17 - 175GB disk space

SD version: ZL16 - 45GB disk space
