May 10, 20206 yr Thanks for info. Yes makes sense, I can find the files back via ortho4xp installs. For Forkboy much the same I guess. Cheers Intel® Core™ i9-13900KF - 24 Cores... May 11, 20206 yr Just got it. Checked out KMYF, and that airport has two big steps in elevation on the runway that weren't there before. They have a thread tracking it and there's apparently a few bumpy runways. Wish I had better luck with these packs.
May 11, 20206 yr Moderator Yes, some default airports have mesh/flattening issues or don't align and I've asked users to flag them on the Orbx forum. This has happened with all TE releases, but they eventually get fixed and corrected in X-Plane after the list is passed to Laminar Research. The ones that can't be fixed by changing the airport will require a product update.

The airport was flat beforehand.
May 12, 20206 yr Moderator Because the airports are just the default ones designed to work on the default mesh. As soon as orthos and a detailed mesh are placed on them, many are shown to be misaligned, not to even exist or have incorrect exclusions or too much flattening or none. In addition, different versions of X-Plane have different versions of the gateway airports. As is the case, most eventually get fixed on the scenery gateway, and Julian of X-Plane has been really busy and helpful in getting these done for the other regions. Those can't be fixed by simply modifying the airport will need a product fix. I don't like to distribute modified airports with the scenery (but have done recently), because when the gateway airport is upgraded, users will be stuck with the old version. Another big issue I see a lot on the default airport are trees, buildings and ground textures. e.g. Somebody who did Catalina Island turned the entire island to a forest, and there are many more examples of this. What looks good in the default scenery can clash badly with other sceneries.
