If I install ASP3D can I use it with both V4.5 and 5?

you should, my V5 crash every time i use active sky beta.

Of course you can. Just upon starting and logging in, ASP3D will ask you what simulator you are going to use; V4 or v5.

Also if you have ASCA, it will automaticaly switch between the active simulators and install textures into the current one.

Micheal, I was suffering the same dilemma after installing ASP3D Open Beta #2. I had no problems with the first beta but ever since the new update problems begin. Did a little research and come to find out that EA must be on. If not then ASP3D will crash the sim. That solve the CTD problem on my end.

That might be correct for your system but it makes no difference if EA is on or off. I don't get CTD's with or without it

I'll try one tonight Vic with EA off and a clean install of ASP3D and report the outcome. Last flight done with EA on had no issues.

Personally I prefer EA off, the cloud movement and weather loads are smoother. Eventually EA will be cleaned up to be more efficient and should look great. Right now, not ready.

I believe ASP3D is only compatible with V4.5 HF3+ and V5

There's no point in using ASP3D for 4.5HF3 at this point. It's in such a sorry state and doesn't actually do anything new or better compared to the old ActiveSky.

On YOUR system maybe but there are many, myself included not having any issues at all.

There are 18 pages of issues on the beta forum. There's just no reason to use ASP3D with V4 right now. It literally does nothing better.

And of those 18 pages the majority are due to user error however you are entitled to your opinion. I expect it doesn't work on your system and you don't have the time nor inclination to resolve the issue but many of us are too busy flying to fill up 18 pages of attaboys!

ASP3D with V4 right now (beta 3) is excellent here.  Beta 2 was a headache.
