RXP GNS 530 installation stuck after installing the trainer.

Featured Replies

hey guys, I bought the RXP 750 and love it!!

But I also bought the 530 and during the installation, and right after the trainer installed, I got this and it just sits there, it has been like 20 minutes.

Do I cancel and try the installation again?? I don't want to mess anything up.

I would cancel and reinstall the gauge.  No need to reinstall the Trainer if it installed correctly.

Try Alt-Tab a time or two and see if you have a dialog box waiting for a response but hiding behind other boxes.  I have had that happen before during software installations.

Nope, nothing, and the window itself is/was not responding at all, I couldn't shut it down or cancel it.

I had to ctrl-alt-del to shut it down.

I tried reinstalling the download through the wrapper reinstall option, it did not offer to reinstall the trainer, and it went through with no issues.

I'm gonna go test it now.

Hi,

It is possible the Garmin Trainer installer was stuck preventing the installation to finishing up.

If the trainer is properly installed though, and you start the installer again like you did, it will resume installing where it left and this should be ok.

Everything seems to be working ok now, re-running the installer did the trick.

thanks for the info.

hello everyone thanks for your time reading this:

I had installed GNS 430 and 530 on P#D v5 working well, Then I install GNS 430 and 530 on X-plane as soon the installer finishid i loss the trainer, and now i do not have GNS on no one simulator, and when i try to run GNS Trainer , this one does not turn on, what aim doing wrong?

thanks for your time your comments may help me.

@jadamian Hi,

Installing the X-Plane plugin alongside the FltSim add-on is supported and one shouldn't interfere with the other.

Can you please post the content of the RXP log files (see User's Manual for file/path)?

NB: it is normal and expected the GNS trainer won't run standalone.

thanks in advance for your time here you are:

21/02/19 16:36:25.967 11868 -    ] # rxpGnsSim64.dll version 2.4.21.0
21/02/19 16:36:25.966 11868 INFO ]

21/02/19 16:36:27.283 11868 ERROR] trainer not found

Like the log file says, there is no valid trainer here (wrong version and/or missing files).

I'd suggest you manually reinstall the GNS trainer shipping with the GNS V2. A copy of the GNS trainer installer is saved here:

C:\ProgramData\Reality XP\Common\GnsTrainer

I allready did that, but  I will doit again

Can you please do the following:

1. On your keyboard press the WIN key and type:

  CMD

2. Click Open to open a Command Prompt

3. In the newly opened Command Prompt window, type:

  dir "C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS" > dir_gns.txt

4. Open a File Explorer (WIN+E) and navigate to:

C:\Users\<your name>

5. Find and Open the dir_gns.txt file and post the content here.

I check the permissions, reboot and open P3D V5 and using Xtreme GL 25 the garmin 530 was working, no black screen, after that i openned x-plane 11 carenado king air, and was working again y close the simulator and open x-plane again and no picture , just black screen and it  does not respond , it does not turn on, again I opened P3D v5 again same model and it is working, after that, one more time again x-plane 11 same aircraft and it´s working again, it is very tricky

thanks for your time

You might need to let the programs closing properly in the background (it is possible they are still active while their main window is no longer visible, depending on your disk or system activity). Usually a dozen or so seconds is sufficient but there are times it can take up to 1/2 minute. Task manager will show you if this is the case. Otherwise if it doesn't work, the first step is always to cross check the RXP log files. Any error should be reported there.
