B777ER - I have not run a flight that long yet. I have tried moving about the world, changing locations and time etc and it seemed to keep up and reload the weather without any problems I am trying now with the update process kept to a short time less than 10 minutes to see what happens but in real life weather obs are only issued every 30 minutes anyway and always on the hour and half hour across the globe forecasts are 12 and 24 hour cycles - not sure how REX handles the forecast interpolation but it seems to do that because if you have an area where there is automated weather and no cloud reported for example what the forecast indicated for the area is being produced. So far no problems interacting with P3D. 

Well i updated to the latest alpha of REX Skyforce for P3Dv5 and notice I have a weird issue in that if I visit the 3D cloud models page, the two sliders for overcast density in the 3D Model Options column are no longer active (grayed out) for Stratus and Cummulus.

I dont remember there being a specific option that enables this to be activated.

 

Any ideas?

 

787flyer - seems you installation may not be right I checked my GUI for REX and they are both operative on mine!

I also had a CTD 2hrs and 20mins into the flight. Never had that before with previous REX versions, so it looks like I will revert back to the previous version that was working OK with P3Dv4.5.

I will report that over at REX.

What version number are you going to? I may have the installer on my pc. I had a CTD after 2 hrs also.

Hi Maurice,

I have REX SF 5.0.2020.0228 already installed for P3Dv4.5 and I also have been using that with P3Dv5.1 HF1 without any issues.

I've been waiting for an update to worldwide airports HD ever since v5 came out.  It appears that the various updates of p3d since 5.0 have made a lot of their work throw away.  The latest statement from Rex is that the product is on hold.  There are also updates on other products as well.  See the link below.  You can install it into 5.3 + hotfix 1 by pointing the installer to the V5 directory.  However, the textures are hit of miss if they work.  Jetways look weird and some hangers have this multi-colored pixelated sheen that shimmers with movement.  Other buildings look perfectly fine.  I haven't tried it yet, but it may be possible to create a theme without the troubled textures.
