Semi-Official discord server is now fully Official

I was the 7th Member of the Discord. Glad its to the point of where it is now.

I subscribed to the MSFS Discord, but actually I wonder why people seem to like it so much. It's a chat box where it is virtually impossible to seriously follow any subject because everyone is talking through one another in one long serial flow.

Person A says something serious and interesting about a certain subject

Person B talks about something completely different

Person C posted a picture of the pizza he is having

Person D responds with a picture of his plate of spaghetti

Person E responds to person A ... but in the mean time everyone totally lost track.

On a forum like this we have threads which encourage to stick to the subject ... which often already proves difficult enough.

Slack is an app that allows threads and therefore is much more usable, but seemingly it's less popular.

Because that's all it really is meant for. It's to talk about the hot subject of that moment and move on, not replace the MSFS forum.

It is badly managed, I am waiting for access for 3days.

I got in fine.

Mind you that was months ago when it first opened.

Yeah I joined early aswell and liked to read the general discussions and the community but after it became official I only see the rules, welcome etc. channels. I even reacted to the necesary posts to gain access.

Hey! I'm one of the moderators from the discord! Can you try again? If that doesn't work can you message me at Richstag#5148. Also make sure you're reacting to the flight simulator logo. https://canary.discordapp.com/channels/646017020412035082/672957753173475358/718986146331492473

Agree 1000%. This is the formats the very early 'forums' had in the early to mid 90's which none of the kids seem to get. I hate going back in time and Discord is a perfect example of this.

That above perfectly describes a movie and pizza night with 14 year olds. Disconnect would've been a better term.

Pizza night is the best night though.

Pizza and beer. With some bourbon and coke thrown in.

Discord can also offer "threads" if the moderators set it up that way. For example one of the Discord groups I follow are the ProMods folks who develop assets for SCS's Euro Truck Sim 2 and American Truck Sim:
