July 15, 20205 yr I heard that the 30xx series ampere GPU may require a new PSU with a new 12 pin connection. I really hope this isn't the case, as I just bought a brand new PSU and expensive cablemod replacement cables for my new build. I just hope we can just run our existing 2x6 pins into the GPU instead. I don't see why NVIDIA needs to do this, it's totally unecessary. It reminds me of Intel where they make ppl upgrade motherboards every time they release a new CPU. This is ridiculous. July 15, 20205 yr I’ve been watching this too. I’ll be going from 1080ti to probably the 3090 or whatever they call it. I’ve been obviously planning on a new psu too. My 750 won’t cut it 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
July 15, 20205 yr It's just 2 - 6 pin connectors. As long as your PSU can handle the amp draw it's ok( rumored only on Nvidia Founders edition cards BTW). Not only that other manufacturers such as Asus aren't using that config. Rumor has it the Titan version will be using 300 watts but I doubt many here will be spending 2k on a GPU.... July 16, 20205 yr Slayer. I may consider it. Everything is rumor now, but I could have sworn I read the non titan version was only 12gb vram. I want more than that. While I may use asus for my mb, I would try my best to get an evga card based on a better rma reputation. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

I've read two articles in the last week or so that said it's a new connector that's not directly compatible with the existing plugs, but both suggested that modular PSU manufacturers are expected to come out with new pigtails that will fit their legacy PSU sockets, and both surmised that the AIB manufacturers would most likely provide an adapter cable for the current 6+2 plugs with the GPU. A GPU sporting a new connector without a readily-available adapter solution (e.g. requiring a new PSU) would lose a lot of upgrade sales. 4 hours ago, micstatic said: Everything is rumor now, but I could have sworn I read the non titan version was only 12gb vram. Same here...seems that several months ago, everyone was expecting 16GB or more VRAM on the 3080Ti and 3090, but all the recent "leaks" suggest 12GB on both, and 24GB again on the RTX Titan II Bob Scott | President and CEO, AVSIM Inc ATP Gulfstream II-III-IV-V Sys1 (MSFS20+24/XPlane12+11): AMD 9800X3D, water 2x240mm, MSI MPG X670E Carbon, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, nVidia RTX4090FE Alienware AW3821DW 38" 21:9 GSync, 2x4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2x2TB Samsung 990 SSD, EVGA 1000P2 PSU, 12.9" iPad Pro Thrustmaster TCA Boeing Yoke, TCA Airbus Sidestick, Twin TCA Airbus Throttle quads, PFC Cirrus Pedals, Coolermaster HAF932 case Sys2 (P3Dv5/v4): i9-13900KS, water 2x360mm, ASUS Z790 Hero, 32GB GSkill 7800MHz CAS36, ASUS RTX4090 Samsung 55" JS8500 4K TV@60Hz, 3x 2TB WD SN850X 1x 4TB Crucial P3 M.2 NVME SSD, EVGA 1600T2 PSU Fiber link to Yamaha RX-V467 Home Theater Receiver, Polk/Klipsch 6" bookshelf speakers, Polk 12" subwoofer, 12.9" iPad Pro PFC yoke/throttle quad/pedals with custom Hall sensor retrofit, Thermaltake View 71 case, Stream Deck XL button box Sys3 (DCS/P3Dv4/ATS/ETS): AMD 7800X3D, MSI MPG X870E Carbon, Noctua NH-D15S, 64GB GSkill 6000/30, EVGA RTX3090 Alienware AW3420DW 34" 21:9 GSync, Corsair HX1000i PSU, 4TB Crucial T705 PCIe5 + 2TB Samsung 970Evo Plus, TM TCA Officer Pack, Saitek combat pedals, TM Warthog, TM RS300 FF wheel/pedals, Coolermaster HAF XB case
July 16, 20205 yr @w6kd Well for now I'll sit back and wait. Ironically I almost ordered a new PSU last week prepping for the new graphics card. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
