The problem that i have is the frame rate , at default it is 20 fps, what happens when you begin to add-on , where does the frame rate go then.the default planes are not that good in my opinion, and at default they look terrible.all i did was add triplhead2go and now its down to 19 to 17 at default and will drop down to 19 to 7.Sorry folks i been doing this to long.i decided to remove FSX, and relosded FS9 and right away i turned up all of the sliders and i maxed out everything, and i got between 30 to 35 fps, then i loaded on the Flight enviroment and ultimate traffic and various other add-ons, and my frame rate dropped to 24 to 20, no my friends you can say all that you want.the game may be usible to you in how you fly, but right now the sim even out of the box you should not have to tweek it beyond the sliders, im hearing all kinds of solutions to gain one or two extra frames, solutions that to the average simmer that just wants to fly.i dont want to go into the files and changs this and that just to get below average results.and all i get is wait and buy a new rig ,the new vista, and the next generation of software to get me up to speed. Yes i will get all of the new equiptment to play this sim , but right now the money is not there and there is no evidence that it will do the job anyway.in my opinion the average simmer should not have to go to all the trouble to tweek a sim beyond sliders, and that is just tweaking for the default planes.i dont care on what they say that this software can do it aint doing it now. So for all of you gentleman that are getting good frame rates with FSX , come back and tell me later when you decide to add-on see if you like the results, until then dig deep in your pockets...........................Robert

>..........................RobertSorry to hear Robert I bet I would have 30 fps on your system with far better looks as FS9... if you need help happy to share knowledge...But it takes time that's what is wrong...With FS9/FS8... it was the same story...Andr

>Bright unrealistic colours in>many situations but maybe some of you have some degree of>colour blindness? My apologies for the file size and compression I lost a lot of quality but to have a reasonable file size...See here the prove the exact texture location with FS9 default textureand Ground Env Pro and FSX in there scale native resolution...FS9 256 *256 FSX 1024 * 1024The pictures speak for them self if you can't see that but if you don't like it just have fun with FS9 ;-)http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y156/awf1/Untitled-1-2.jpgO and with 7 Flightsim developer awards and 4 times the AVSIM gold award and the AVSIM zulu award and many more you call me color blind :-lol :-lolIf you don't like things in my book just join forces and make it better or leave it alone and don't comment...Yes and I don't have FPS problems... or if you call between 30 and 60 a problem :-lol :-lol and better looks as FS9...As for the ground textures I don't like the autumn colors and particular for our country but hey I'm going to change that myself ;-)Andr

So what are the problems and bugs?? I have been enjoying it for a week now with no problems the weren't solvable. Would have been nice if you could be specific about your problems and then someone might actually be able to help you. To make a blanket statement is meaningless. Craig

>Well it sure isn't fs9...I fully agree and it will take a #### of a time before FSX to come close to FS9byeBert

I could show you links to numerous problems, but I would then be accused of "having an agenda" :-roll. I wanted to like FSX, but the frame rates, stuttering, texture reloads, and scenery faults ruined it for me :)My agenda: to tell the truth!

Quote from MS Flight Team Lead: "We’ve made some guesses"

VOlWMAlS.gif

I've only been enjoying flight sims since I retired. I tried several venues from the IL2 series through FS2004.I quickly dropped the IL2 series. It's poor campaign management didn't do much for me but it was the so-called "support" forum that capped the whole experience. That was like entering a room full of preschool children...most with behavioral problems. No thanks. It didn't take me long to become an FS2004 fan. The program itself is amazing; it does a decent job at (regionally) modeling the whole world, it can give me a wide range of weather including local real time conditions, it was endlessly expandable within the contraints of it's programming and it's fans seem far more laid back then the IL2 crowd. That made it a pleasure to visit the forums and check out information on the latest aircraft, scenery or utilities and dicuss aviation topics with like minded folks from around the world.I'm just wondering where that community went. The closer it came to the release of FSX the more these communities started sounding like the online fighter jock sites...a room full of preschool children with behavioral problems.I thought this was an adult community. If we don't want to eat our vegetables we don't have to; there's no need to sit at the table telling everyone why the vegetables are yucky and loudly proclaiming we have no intention of eating those yucky vegetables.Me? I'm going to quietly eat whatever I wish to and not disturb everyone else at the table with my tastes...and hopefully find some decent dinner table discussion somewhere.Would someone please pass me that bowl of vegetables.

"....Thanks for informing me that FSX is cartoonish. There was me thinking FSX is stunningly beautiful and capable of doing things FS9 can only dream of. In my ignorance I thought that FSX's one meter ground textures made FS9 almost look silly in comparison with its low resolution, leopard-spot textures. And so on....Thanks for letting me see the light!..."You're more than welcome Chris, any time.Andre, thanks for taking the trouble to do the comparison screenshots. I like the GEpro shot most. I think you'd agree it's the most lifelike? I assume that's what you were trying to illustrate. Maybe you could also do some of the many deserts that have appeared in FSX, you know, the ones that depict the effects of global warmimg in the future which is when FSX is supposed to start running really well. Oh yes, color blindness. I was serious. You know it's quite common, especially in males. It might be an issue for some.
