October 23, 200619 yr The use of GE Pro for texture comparison is a fundamental contradiction in terms.GE PRO deliberately includes a GUI to alter the colour balance, contrsst and brightness of the installed textures, as well as the option to have the textures `matched` to the environment variables. It therefore has no place as a basis for an evaluation of relative merit, and I don't think any scenery developer worth his salt would use the GE Pro textures as a single example of what is `right` or `wrong`. At the very least, you need to include the colour balance, contrast and brightness settings alongside the screenshot. In the other hand, as a real pilot with a thousand hours looking down on real scenery, not your computer generated approximations, I can tell you that ALL of those are entirely accurate. So dont bother.Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Adjust the monitor, not the textures!Allcott

October 23, 200619 yr I am so tempted to pee in the pool (thats for you tdragger) but alas, I will refrain. Eric

October 23, 200619 yr >I thought this was an adult community. If we don't want to eat>our vegetables we don't have to; there's no need to sit at the>table telling everyone why the vegetables are yucky and loudly>proclaiming we have no intention of eating those yucky>vegetables. And of course what seems to be the popular counter-argument is "It's our right to whine about it as much as you enjoy it!!!" . As if that made any sense at all - Unless you're in preschool...Oh well.., it will go away, things will return to normal - And then the whining and bickering will return in three years again and FSX will be the new FS9.
October 24, 200619 yr Geof,I think you may be wrong here. It's not a bug in FSX that the FPS counter is reporting a lower than actual FPS value.Rather, we've all been "tricked" for years now with FS9!That FPS counter was reporting HIGHER than actual FPS values ...Sorry - couldn't resist.JerryG
October 24, 200619 yr :-lol ! Maybe Aces can issue a quick patch that makes the fps show a constant 60-then everyone will be happy! :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

October 24, 200619 yr > Hello,>> Yes you are entitled. I was just making a suggestion since>this type of thread becomes a free for all of "my sim Vs your>sim". Smith>Thanks Randy for clearing this up. :-)I was suspecting just what you say....You know me from various posts earlier, and you also know that I am quite harmless. It is just my way of "provocative argumentation" which many here can not handle. ;-)What I don Staffan
October 24, 200619 yr Well Staffan-if you look at this thread-I have made no personal attacks-in fact I think you would be hard pressed to find that I ever do-I like to discuss based on facts and not get personal. In this thread I have been called a "a really excited user" (was that you or was it someone else-I lose track...) and it has been suggested that I might need a meeting with Freud among others...seems rather silly doesn't it...I agree with you. A famous philosopher said if you have to raise your voice to make a point you don't have much of one...I assume you don't consider the G1000 a system, or the new stec autopilot system improvements? Or did you know about them?http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg Geofa WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!
