July 20, 20205 yr Since my old go-to aircraft, the Lionheart Quest Kodiak, won't start in P3Dv5 unless I load a different aircraft and then select the Kodiak I've been searching to another aircraft to take it's place. The OZx Grumman Goose fits the bill beautifully. It works great in P3Dv5 and has good visibility over the nose and excellent visibility out the side windows for sight seeing. It will trim to almost hands off level flight at 180 MPH (yes, the ASI is calibrated in MPH, not Knots). Just a touch on the trim button now and then will keep it from straying although the default autopilot works well for complete hands-off cruising. Not as quick as the Kodiak with it's green line going up to 182 kts but quick enough to cover over 200 miles in an hour and a half flight (about the duration of my attention span). Quick enough for Return to Misty Moorings bush flights. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
July 21, 20205 yr Just loaded the Quest Kodiak from the initial screen in TVSM, and it spawned just fine. I'm using the add-on.xm method. IMO There must be something missing in Your install. Edited July 21, 20205 yr by RamonB Ramón. Time, is the one thing no one can buy.

IMO There must be something missing in Your install. I'm having the same issues as Noel (Birdguy). Other people have reported the same issue to Lionheart Creations. Did you save the Quest Kodiak as a cold and dark scenario and then reload it and try to start it? That is when I have the issues. I do not even have to load a flight, for example, when my default flight comes up and I change the plane to the Kodiak and load the scenario the Kodiak will start ok. If I save the Kodiak as a cold and dark scenario and load it, it will not start. I do not use the add-on.XML method, but if you can confirm you can load a Kodiak cold and dark scenario and it starts ok, I will give it a try. John Cottreau Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder. John C.

Hello John OK, loaded the RealAir turbine and placed it in cold and dark condition, Swapped planes to the Kodiak, made sure all was off including fuel valves on the overhead. Saved the flight at TVSM. Exited and relaunched P3D. Selected the saved flight and was able to start the aircraft a couple times. 1 Master On, Aux Bus On. 2. Fuel Valves Opened. 3. Power Lever to IDLE -> (Lights) 4. Ignition ON, Starter Hi. 5 Fuel Lever to 1/3. (Play it by the ear as the instruments don't seem reliable, the moment the sound pitches, I advance the fuel lever and get ignition.) Note: Revised my aircraft.cfg file and it has a small edit under:[Fuel] number_of_tank_selectors = 1 // was 2 I believe Bert suggested that some time ago. Hope that helps. Cheers. PD: if You decide to go the xml way, PM me if You need an add-on xml file and a list of files to include in its tree structure. Edited July 21, 20205 yr by RamonB Ramón. The "number_of_tank_selectors = 1" did the trick. Thank you. July 21, 20205 yr Author BY GOD THAT WORKS! I changed tank selectors to 1 and now my Kodiak starts! Thanks Ramon. Now I've got my favorite aircraft back. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.

I'm surprised that entry was set to "2" to begin with. A single engine aircraft would only have one tank selector, as they are assigned per engine! Fr.
