What will not help anyone is pretending microsofts new release will magically make hardware perform beyond what it is capable of, sitting around complaining into your caramel latte or praying the grass is greener on the other side.

This is not what I said... Neither MFS or X-Plane Vulkan are magic pills that can make an old computer run faster. However claiming one is worse than the other when you haven't even tried it yourself is what I'm calling out.

You of all people should know the NDA is never being lifted.

So, what you're saying is that after release nobody will be able to talk about it? Really???

I've seen all I need to see right here

3 more days or so and so will everyone else.

I'll stick with GTA5, Battlefield 4, CSGO and Beat Saber thanks very much, much better games for sure.

OK, but its what it sounded like. I was responding to someone expecting MSFS2020 (just as non existent as flight 2.0 btw) to solve their XP11 issues, what's your excuse?

Guys,

we all know sparks is trying to resist the temptation...

Denial is a natural mental defense mechanism 🙂

This being said, I really don't know why people on both sides ( me included sometimes ... ) tend to have this childish behaviour of "my toy is better than yours..."...

X-Plane users don't have to fear MFS. They're different products, which can both be used to their best ( although I have a neural short circuit regarding flightsim polygamy ... ), and they will co-exist forever, or at least aslong as Austin wants XP to keep alive, and MS profits from MFS.

Enjoy both, or just one, and let the others happily play with their toy.

Apparently its on steam, so if it runs on Proton I might even have a play. pretty sure UWP will prevent that tho.

At least the XP11.50 beta steam based DRM stutters were unintentional (and fixed now)

I expect this to get a whole lot worse next week or so.... I'm also expecting lots more of those comparison videos that are clearly biased to make one sim look better than the other (and comparing a brand new sim to one that is several years old) 🙂

Doubt it will work TBH... you'll probably have to use Windows (so I'm not holding my breath waiting on that one).....

Yeah, I wouldn't waste decent hardware on a windows machine. An Intel hd 520 is the best graphics card I have in anything running windows and that can't even run X-Plane 11 (10 runs great tho).

Meanwhile, in the real world, XP11 is going from strength to strength whilst Asobo shift all their resources to the new release of a Plagues Tale. So I hope for the Microsofties sake its already perfect.

You are so hilarious, living in denial. I know I am biased due to my excitment for MSFS, but do you notice that even most XPers find your statements ridiculous?

It would be funny to make a list of all your predictions about MSFS. Just a few that come to mind.

  • MSFS will be paid subscription.
  • ... will offer liveries as addons only
  • ... is developed by a bunch of kids
  • ... will not be released for years.

Is developed by kids games developers, i.e. By people who specialise in developing games like A Plagues Tale or Toy Story, and this is what you should expect.

Will not be usable as an engineering tool ever

Quite what you think any of that has to do with XP11.50b17 about to be r1 escapes me,

Nah man, I'm living the dream, I got my big boys toys:

The only ones in denial here are those with an over inflated idea of the importance of their opinion, especially ones getting excited by a computer game by Microsoft that feel the need to post about it in here of all places..

I left a long time ago the world of simulation long before the genesis of social networks to come back to it recently, not being a pro but an amateur attracted by beautiful landscapes and bush flying.
Having made my choice, I was categorized in the word not allowed box... but here I was, I didn't remember that the simulation fan community contained so many characters so full of their self-satisfied, smug and arrogant people.

One thing is for sure, for the time being the only platform where we can fly an R-44 it's X-Plane, and overall X-plane does a rather decent job in modelling rotary wing. Actually I was always puzzled at how apparently X-plane always did rotaries more plausibly than some fixed wing, given the complexity of modelling a rotary aircraft...

So for helicopter simming, X-Plane, and maybe AEFS2 are still the best options. I know there's also FlightGear and DCS and even recently Helicopter Simulator, but X-Plane offers the whole World, and a much more complex environment.

Then we are here at the X-Plane forum making indirect references to the competition, which is not fair...

And finally, I do agree with much of what mSparks writes in his posts, and I acknowledge that instead of, for instance - me - Sparks actually does a LOT more than simply writing and posting stuff, offering comments... He develops plugins, and recently even made the default 744 in XP11 a lot more pleasurable to use !

I do try and put a little bit of original thought into what I write, obviously not always correct, but so used to people finding non groupthink offensive that I now tend to tease them by introducing them to even more things they didn't know. Been online since the 90s, picked up a lot of knowledge "weapons" along the way.

For everyone else
