You can't buy a pilot's license and you can't get to CFI without actually putting in a ton of effort. Trust me, I know.

Apparently you could at PIA until fairly recently.

You can't always take the opinion of someone with real-life experience as absolute fact, or the final word. There's a certain amount of interpretation between any individual and the sim in question. For this same reason, you often see disagreements (often quite vigorous...) about physics in racing simulators. Take racing sim A, professional racing drivers B, C and D, you will get three different opinions on the exact same software.

That being said, I think it's logical and a good bet to place a lot more weight on what a person with hands-on experience says (in whatever's being simulated) compared to Joe Sixpack end user.

Meanwhilst at PIA:

Master caution: SATIRE. BURN.

Checked. Apply cream to affected area. Suspend half of flight crew.

Well stated! So much depends on individual experiences, expectations, assumptions and how you blend and weigh your observations together for your opinion.

Don't know but they performed risky maneuvers over the crowd.

The Ramstein air show disaster with 70 dead and about 1000 injured people is the reason why such maneuvers are forbidden in Germany since then.

He's a son of a billionaire trust fund kid who never worked a day in his life. i find it hard to trust someone coming from that position.

Any source on that?

Yup. My point exactly. Flying at the edges of the envelope has enormous risks.

Bush flying is also similarly dangerous and they do things that regular GA pilots would never consider doing. That doesn't mean they are careless aviators. It's just the nature of the job.

When I first discovered the Candourist’s videos it quickly became apparent that he must be a rich kid with a life of leisure. But that doesn’t logically follow that he has a poor character (in fact he comes across as quite decent, though of course that’s just what he chooses to show in his videos). But definitely has no bearing on his flying experience and skill. In fact, it could work in his favour with respect to the latter. I wonder how many flight hours he’s been able to log compared to your average non-professional mortal.

Also, I bet his flight hours in more extreme environments and flying maneuvers give him more expertise on the limits of his aircraft than a regular GA or commercial pilot could have in the same number of flight hours.

If I could choose, I would take flight safety lessons from a regular GA pilot and I would listen to him about flight model fidelity.

And who can question his passion and commitment to aviation? At least the OP admitted he might be biased by his envy, and for that I tip my hate to him.

Avsim armchair simmers. That's who.

Regrettably, just watching a live stream of the Candourist in a multiplayer session and he’s reiterated that the X-Cub needs more work. I think he said it’s too stable. However, he thinks they have done a very accurate job on the Savage Cub. Which is great for me as that’s the plane I intend to concentrate on at first.

I'm not that concerned about the flight dynamics, Asobo have obviously focused on it and are aware of concerns. Also as many people say they like them as say they don't like them, which is usually an indication it's just about right on something so subjective 🤣

What I am concerned about is the engine modelling, there's been no mention of it by anyone it seems.

I feel like people complaining about it are complaining about what they are used to in other Sims rather than what is like in real world.
