Mach Loop!

Featured Replies

Am surprised none of the YouTubers have gone for a spin through the Mach Loop. In case you aren't aware, the Mach Loop is a region in North Wales where the RAF, not to mention aircraft from US bases in the UK, practice low level flying. I know a former RAF Harrier pilot who used to train pilots to fly the Mach Loop. He now flies the Voyager tanker.

And then there's Death Valley's Rainbow Canyon. Be interesting to see how much fan can be extracted from the sim in that location.

Anywhere else you guys fancy for an entertaining first flight?

Probably because there's no default military jets to do it justice.

Edit: (Yet.)

I'm gonna go in with a Cessna 152 being all Top Gun as I take on those steep turns.

Its not just fast jets that fly the Mach Loop. My friend used to train people in a King Air. You will see all manner of aircraft in the loop. A400M's, the lot. You could try it in the Pitts Special. 🙂

Starwars canyon should be worth a visit too

Yes i bet a jet at 200ft mach 1 would be good for scenery blurring.

😀 Good for a large explosion on thew side of a Welsh valley too. I think they are usually at corner airspeed in the loop. I'm guessing 300 knots or so.

The Mach Loop and Star Wars Canyon are great ideas...could be lot of fun in the little aerobatics planes that are included.

Nah, in a 152 you’re not going to be “Top Gun” ....but grab the 150 Aerobat and maybe you can at least go all “Iron Eagle”
