August 24, 20205 yr Same Problem.... The Download is looping for 5 days. The is the worse download manager I've ever seen. I give up and asking for refund from Steam. Just wait for the Asobo to solve these installation problems and reconsider to purchase later again after the bugs are fixed.

Perform a disk scan on C drive, to make sure there are no errors on the file system. See this (from reddit): Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
August 27, 20205 yr I had the same Problems. I read something about an internert limiter, limiting the Speeds of certain applications. Went down from 4 MB/s to .5 MB/s. Download was stable and finally finished. As soon as I tried to increase the Speed while downloading, the trouble occured again.
August 27, 20205 yr I have a subscription to XBOX gold Ultimate and I'm using Microsoft Store to download FS2020. I got stuck while downloading fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.002 after downloading 17 GB on a 3 Mbps DSL (translates to a 48 hours download or so, as I'm home working and have two little kids whatching netflix and youtube on the same 3 MB DSL). After getting stuck on this file and looking for solutions with no luck during another couple days, decided to uninstall FS and just whipe the entire install folder to start from scratch. I moved files from one disk to another and now I have 220 GB free on my SSD HD, just in case. Guess wat? The download stuck at the same file, after downloading the exact 17.6 GB and having the same 13.582 files on the install folder (yes, I counted). As one of my friends has successfully downloaded a repack copy though torrent and is working perfectly fine for him since almost a week ago, I decided to download the torrent and see if I can reconstruct the folders on the original install folder and make that word not allowed fly. I' not suggesting any kind of illegal practice, but it could worth a try in order to fix an absurd issue that the biggest software company in the world is unable/unwill to fix. Will comment about my ressults when I got any (probably in 4 or 5 days, when the new 71 GB download finish). By the way, I'll get (finally after 7 year living on this place) a 120 Mbps fiber circuit next Monday. Make your bets, which arrives first? MFS2020 or my new internet circuit? Thanks for reading.

Of course it's not approved, but that doesn't mean it's illegal if that's what you're getting at. You're only accessing files you've already paid to get access to through alternate means and MFS won't run without verifying your MS account anyway. It's actually doing MS a favour reducing load on their flakey servers. If you wanted a physical analogy, it's a bit like a grey Japanese car import whereby you have legal possession of good via a channel not authorised by the OEM. Okay, if it’s an alternative but legal way to download the files that’s fine. The only time I’ve seen references to torrent it’s for nefarious purposes. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 27, 20205 yr Torrenting and p2p is just another distribution method and is not in itself illegal, although it has been used to transmit pirated content. For example, FreeMeshX's freeware is legitimately distributed via torrent primarily as it means not having to pay for bandwidth and servers. The MFS content files torrent wasn't linked to (probably a good idea it wasn't tbf) but I would be very doubtful it included means to circumvent MS verification at this early stage. Ultimately, folks wouldn't be resorting to torrents if MS's file delivery system actually worked properly, because they are more of a hassle and often slower than a good server. The thing has been out over a week now and still we read about the same issues they haven't fixed, I am so glad I obtained a refund when I did, customers have to use to torrents to get files they've paid for a week ago is really not on. I'm just TRYING to build the game folder using an alternate way that the developers/distributors doesn't offer, I don't want to get a pirated copy, I paid for XBOX game pass every month since more than a year and I've upgaded my computer a couple months ago waiting JUST for this game, and now I'm not able to EVEN INSTALL IT! i though that my slow and satured internet circuit could be the cause of a bad download, but after seeing the download miserably stoping at the same file after being downloading for hours I got frustrated and started downloding the torrent. I repeat, I don't encourage any kind of piracy method or violation to intelectual property, just suggested an alternative way to obtain a copy of the files WE are unable to download. By the way, I still need A LOT of time to confirm if this works, as I've just downloaded 12% of the torrent (hard work days and heavy downloads on my child's xbox) but can confirm that the torrent version worked perfectly fine for my friend, probably not with online features, but he is using it since a week ago and I was not even able to install it using the "correct" way to do it. If any of you was able to rebuild the original game folder using this method, please confirm if all this works (It will let me decide if it wort's the effort to download 71 GB, that translates to almost 5 days to me). Thanks a have a great weekend! (mine will pass downloading this). Best regards and tank you for reading (I need a place to relief my frustration)

Sorry for the double post, but I´ll like to thank @ckyliu, as I will not be able to explain it in a better way (seriously, I couldn't do it). Let's hope this issue get addressed in the quickest way. Just to give it another try, I resumed the original download again (while still downloading the torrent version) just in case it magically works. Regards.

Don't worry, as has been explained to me you have done nothing wrong. I was suspicious because the only time I've seen torrent mentioned elsewhere it was linked to pirate software. September 22, 20205 yr Check your location settings. It happens to check that you are not spoofing location. if location settings are off it will go into a loop. same with a VPN, make sure if you are downloading, you are at the same possible "IP address" seems to be working so far for me. also have found windows 10 ver 2004 is a big problem. downloads fine in 1909. but honestly, they need to go back to a traditional installer, this one is broken and can never be fixed, should keep it like gears of war installer, that ga,e is huge and it downloads and installs perfectly
February 17, 20215 yr I've been struggling with this problem for months and just found the solution (credit to another, obviously much smarter dude). 1. Download Netlimiter 4. Install/Run it. It's a relatively small utility that is free for this purpose. 2. Start MSFS 2020 update. When it gets to the file that it just keeps re-downloading, click in Netlimiter. It will list all your currently running programs/jobs. There's a down arrow for download. 3. Reduce the download speed until MSFS starts working. For me, it started working when I reduced it to 300 KB/s (which is roughly 3 Mb/s) I know that seems slow but it sure beats loading the same file forever. Good luck, hope it works for you, too.
