August 20, 20205 yr Author In case anybody’s wondering how to start the refund process it’s very simple from Microsoft shop, log into your Microsoft account you used to purchase the game with you should see a list of titles that you own, or right at the login page there’s a few shortcuts at the top one of them will take you to your title where you can initiate the refund request it’s right there ,
August 21, 20205 yr Author To mention a few pitfalls I find spoil the experience for me at least, not a fan of having external developer encrypting files on my own system than preventing even system admins from accessing or moving the files or back them up, even though I ordered and installed premium deluxe version mine didn’t have sensitivity settings anywhere to be found (x56 set was detected and worked!), I found the manual caching to be a joke trying to manually cache NY state will take a week, can’t save your progress or edit it afterwards; which means you are committed to edit a region to completion, while everyone were praising the value and benefits of a VFR most photogrammetry cities look terrible up close with trees protruding everywhere, flying 500-1000ft AGL at night street lights are above the aircraft, we don’t have even a basic radio communications needed even in basic sim application, in most metro cities I see no value in having a Photoreal since its blocked by sea of building and random objects that don’t look very real unless its photogrammetry and you are around 3-5k ft. agl, what irks me the most prior to release many social media promoters conveniently ignored all the basics to gain few more views to their channel, most lost their integrity in my view,

You have total 9 posts all related to your decision to refund. I image if everyone posted topic "I have purchased" or "I have requested refund" it would amazing and the most useful contribution to flight sim community I've seen up to date! Of course I understand to post it directly to Microsoft store support would be most useless endeavor one could ever think of! My hat is off for you effort! The majority of us here at AVSIM are veteran simulator enthusiasts, and will back me up in saying this. I have never bought a sim outright that is 100% to my liking, And it will never happen! You highlighted all the areas 3rd party developers will improve on. In time MSFS 2020 will shine for everyone. Edited August 21, 20205 yr by n4gix Removed unnecessary long quote!
August 21, 20205 yr I put in a request for a refund on the Microsoft store and they replied that they were unable to get a refund for it since I have already "played the game".
August 21, 20205 yr Author @sd_flyer You are reading my words out of context, beside that was aimed at the poster above me not you! to answer your concern, at Microsoft support it would take days to get any response if at all, in case you missed I wanted to know what the policy was all that’s available is a generic statement when searching, Edited August 21, 20205 yr by iCann

It took about five hours from submission to them giving the refund. The 72 hours thing is just the max it could take. Relax a bit dude. It's not that bad. Edited August 21, 20205 yr by bonchie
August 21, 20205 yr MS Store policy is that...if it's the same as in Xbox Store...you have to play it under 2 hours and own it less than 14 days. However, you can go to the support.xbox.com initiate live chat with person on support and tell them what you want and they will most often than not help you.

August 21, 20205 yr Author @RW1 i have highlighted what I feel uncomfortable with in case anyone from asobo reads this it has some rational, been simming for many years as well my go to atm is P3D still, with that I also said I’ll revisit based on how the developer continues development in a year or two, with regards to future 3rd party developments, maybe in the aircraft or airport/poi area, there are more facets to simulation than the few mentioned I am not very optimistic about at this point in time, Edited August 21, 20205 yr by iCann
August 21, 20205 yr Everyone of you requesting knew this sim wasn't ready if you had been reading this forum and had visited the Microsoft site in the last few days. Now I want my money back is your mantra? That's disappointing. Give it a chance and you might be surprised. You might end up with the best sim you've ever experienced. Yes there are some glaring problems. Yes it was released at least 3 - 4 months prematurely but so was FSX. I firmly believe these will be corrected with some updates and end up being the best sim we've seen to date. However if you insist on a refund, go the the site you purchased it from and ask them.
