August 20, 20205 yr I use the money you used for your 32 GB for my 3090 🙂 By the way Ultra 4k uses 12 GB on my system. Edited August 20, 20205 yr by Gomoto

And its MSRP is gonna be the same as the 2080 Super or possibly lower if AMD forces their hand. Thanks for the tip, Bonchie! Do you know anything about how the load heat/temps compare between the 2? August 20, 20205 yr Don't get me wrong, I'm all okay for 32 GB ram upgrade as well. But I still question the usage of this game. How will it function for Series X then? From the looks of it, game uses a total of 15-18 gb ram and 7-8 gb vram, if available. This totals to a nearly 24 GB RAM. As far as i know, the xbox series will have 16 GB of shared memory and only 13.5 GB of it will be available to the producers. Of course it's not fair to compare two different platforms directly, but still, isn't there supposed to be more optimizations? I just fear that the game will become somewhat unplayable, because seeing those 19-20 GB usages, i also got the urge to upgrade to 32 GB. but i also wonder, how will this behaviour of usage will react with the upcoming console's limited memory? Also this game is supposed to be promised for Xbox One X, and it also has very limited memory, about 5.5-6 for developers. Even at low, 720p settings, this game uses 15.4 GB ram and 6 GB VRAM in certain airports. I believe there are very big issues regarding the usage or maybe i'm word not allowed of simulators. But still, this is a game promised for one x so i rrealy wonder how this will all playout

And that's without add-ons. Thats why I went with 64GB for no chance of being limited, whats another $150 over 32GB? Edited August 20, 20205 yr by Brandon01110 MSFS Alpha tester on W10 Pro x64. XP11 will easily top 20GB of RAM usage with orthos. If Asobo ever does offer higher settings for resolutions of orthos, you'll need all the RAM you can get. I suspect they'll get around the XBox issue by sending them lesser lower ZLs.
August 20, 20205 yr What is better, going from 16 to 32 with a 2x8 more, or buying directly a 2x16 and remove the older ones?

August 20, 20205 yr I'll be going Crucial Ballistix DIMM Kit 64GB, DDR4-3600, CL16-18-18-38 for my new rig no doubt. Enjoy playing cities skylines every once in a while and this already uses all the 32GB I've been having since 2013. Also my X-Plane with satellite textures used more. 300€ for RAM of this specification... unbelievable. Wondering weather it is worth buying now before RTX3000 and Ryzen 4000 series is released in fear prizes will go up again. It droped by ~90€ within one month, which is 25%. More than likely you will be fine though. If it doesnt work as planned, you will need to manually change the timing settings in BIOS for the 2 "different" kits to work together. I bought all new ram to get 32GB because I originally had 4x4GB DDR3. Needless to say I spent $160 to increase my chances to get into alpha (I did get in so I think I did right) When I replaced my older hardware just a month after that with modern DDR4, I knew 64GB was a no brainer being that MSI afterburner showed at one time I was using 29GB ram.
