Question… during flight, my physical throttles are at max… AT is controlling the actual throttles but they obviously are out of sync. So when you get to 50 AGL when landing, the throttles are WAY out of sync. What do you do to minimize this?

I always pull my throttles back some at the same time when I go flaps up.  At some point during cruise or descent I start pulling my throttles slowly back to just above idle. Then on final I just pull them back to idle and let the AT disengage and set her down

Thanks. That makes sense. I will do the same.

When I move my throttle back from full it will disengage AT, it wasn't like that from the beginning, then you had to disengage with the AT button, I like that better as I use Warthog Throttle and had a button programmed for AT, in that way I could have the throttle in a more comfortable position in flight.

Btw, I always disengage AT when I'm locked at the localizer and adjust speed manual down to the runway.

If you fail to activate a LATERAL mode (Nav or Hdg) AND PITCH mode (FLC or V/S) before pulling back...the A/T will not engage.

Automatic lateral and vertical navigation, auto throttle. Reading this kind of thread, I always think of the words of the immortal Madeline Kahn in one of the best American comedy movies ever   "Excuse me, darling. What is it exactly that you do do?"
