I haven't flown the Longitude a whole lot... hoping for the new flight plan manager from WT's G3000. December 29, 20205 yr I only discovered the Longitude about a week ago and have grown to love it. To use the default autothrottle, you need to: 1. Change the throttle speed-control dial from FMS to Manual. (This switch is part of the dial itself.) 2. Select a speed above stall speed. (This is greater than about 140mph). 3. Enable the Autopilot Master Control after you've become airborne. 4. Press the Auto-Throttle Enable button on the engine throttles themselves. (It's there if you look.) July 6, 20223 yr Anyone know if there is a difference between the left and right auto-throttle buttons? July 28, 20223 yr I've been using Shift-r as the keyboard short-cut for toggling the auto-throttle. I have yet to figure out how to return to the speed that it was in after disarming the auto-throttle; if possible, without having to manually adjust the throttle using another method: F-keys, VS, or the joystick throttle. July 30, 20223 yr Thank you!! How did I not know this beautiful bird had an autothrottle!? (Facepalm) SO much easier now...and best of all no “beep beep beep beep!!!” followed by my annoyed wife yelling “what’s the beeping!?” and “you just make it do that to add excitement!” (???) 🙂 En route from Ontario to San Diego with the mod and it’s holding the speed perfectly.
July 30, 20223 yr The next time someone asks for a top MSFS plane wish list, the first one in my list will be a study level payware Longitude with: fully working VNAV and HUD, cockpit with complete and updated working buttons and switches, detailed documentation, working cabin doors and windows, maintenance procedures, etc. (2nd and 3rd in the list would be study level bizjets with Garmin-like avionics like the Pilatus PC-24 and the Phenom 300). Not a bizjet but a DA42 Twin Star would be an instabuy too. Btw, I couldn't edit my above post about the auto throttle. But the speed adjustments after the AT is disarmed is not in the VS whatchamacallit (dial/lever?) Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space. July 31, 20223 yr Silly question, but how does one make certain that this lovely autothrottle is OFF before landing or on rollout after landing so, you know, your plane doesn’t keep barreling down the runway at 190 knots then off the end of the runway into the ocean, with thrust reversers and parking brakes unable to stop it? (Not that this just happened, of course....) 🙂

I've been looking for auto-throttle functionality in other default GA planes since I started using the auto-throttle in the Longitude. I tried a few planes but I couldn't find any. It's probably a high-end avionics option generally not available in GA planes. I'm not an airliner guy so I wouldn't know if the default airliners in MSFS have auto-throttle. I would think they would have them. But if I'm to check airliners out, the PMDG 737 600 at $35 is apparently a very good deal and it might be worth trying out.
