August 27, 20205 yr found this, have not used it myself how to get reshade to work , in freestyle https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/random-screenshot-megathread/122964/348 Edited August 27, 20205 yr by SirDan i7-8600k @ 3.70 GHz 16.0 GB Ram OS Win 10-64 bit Geforce GTX 1070

Not the cockpits, but the whole scenery and especially the clouds. The clouds don't show any details in the distance, it's only a "very white", bright mass and the scenery is "milky, washed out" and bright greenish during flight. I tried everything (Windows settings, monitor settings), but no success. My specs are: 8700k (4.8 Ghz), 32 GB, RTX2800 (3840x2160, no HDR), LG 47". Any hint or advise? Thanks a lot! September 30, 20205 yr I'm amazed frankly to think that anyone has developed this sim and thinks that washed out cloud textures and blindingly white highlights are acceptable. Well, than you will need to continue to be amazed at a sim that has been widely and almost universally praised for its visual fidelity and close to photorealistic graphics. So they should stop all work on the graphic engine now since it's so good - no need to improve on it? And people wonder why flight sims have been so far behind other AAA titles in terms of graphics; we settle and accept what he get, and we better be glad we have what they gave us...god forbid they might take it away from us. It's not like we are "paying" money for a product. We should just take it no matter what we get. "Love it or get out"? September 30, 20205 yr I think MSFS2020 is the best thing that has happened to simming for a long time, but it has a long way to go. That journey begins with gaining feedback from the community, so the sim can grow and flourish, getting better all the time along the way. It does that by being grown up and honest enough to itself by taking on board the criticisms as well as the praise, and to be fair, there is much of that, and truly worthy. Other than adding ray tracing, yes they absolutely should not mess with the lighting and atmospheric effects. They are near perfect for me and the majority of people based on reviews I've read. October 8, 20205 yr I think a very simple solution would be to add a setting for HDR peak brightness. This issue really only happens in HDR when the peak brightness of the content exceeds the peak brightness of your display, and clips, causing the overexposed highlights. This happens with every piece of HDR media that exceeds peak brightness, including games, movies, etc. But HDR games usually have a peak brightness setting, allowing you to set the peak brightness for your monitor to eliminate clipping and detail loss, where as MSFS2020 does not. The only other issue with brightness is with the eye adaptation (in HDR and non-HDR modes), for which there is no fix considering the dynamic lighting (and subsequently; the need for eye adaptation).
