"Jet-Way" Flight sim
I have given a few bucks to a few kickstarting ventures over the years. Mostly for inexpensive items, with money I am willing to risk, but this seems so far-fetched, I just have to shake my head. If $8,000 is the amount of money stopping him from fulfill his dreams to get a flight sim "off the ground", I am willing to bet even if he raises three times that amount, it will fail. Eight thousand dollars is a nice sum of money, but it's really not so much that he and his delevoper friends couldn't get a part time job for a year, and use that money to develop a working demo to show us to get us to invest money with them. If he truly will be able to demo a "A380", and an airport, in about four months, why doesn't he wait to show us what he has before asking for money? If he could show us the "goods", I am very sure he would have a lot of us flooding his project with money. But not now. I worry when he doesn't name who his developer friends are, and which BIG name flight sims they have helped and developed for. He didn't even bother to post many pics of what he has developed on this site or even his facebook page. For a flight simmer, he facebook page has nothing i can see about flight sims or planes, etc. I think he's a dreamer. Good for him. lol. Dream big...I wish him luck, but not dimes. Even dreamers with good intent can waste your money as badly as evil scammers... Just my thinking on this. .

DTG announces Boeing partnership
I hope this partnership will extend to their new upcoming flight sim.

Dovetail Games Flight School Release Date: May 24, 2016
Well, delays happen, but for me, it's a little bit of a let down to hear it's going to be delayed just a week before we expected it to be released. I was hoping to see a lot of reviews and videos next week. A month isn't a long time to wait, but it is (lol) when you want to see how something "new". I wish, instead, they would just released it, and then make an announcement that they will release a patch next month, listing what will be improved, changed, added, etc... to build even more excitement. Some gamers/people don't take things well whenever something is delayed. unfortunately.

DTG : Fs 64 bit this year - How will LM react ?
Not to venture off topic, but I wonder how Xplane will react. I view DTG as more of a competitor to Xplane than Prepar3d.

News on DTG Simulator is coming soon!
I just visited the DTG's website and their Facebook page, and I didn't see anything rcent about their new upcoming flight sim. The most recent info I see is in this thread - about an upcoming announcement. On their facebook page, there's a post from 6 months ago, stating this flight sim will be on PCs. Maybe on consoles "down the road", but for now, they are focusing on a PC release. This suggests to me that we won't see a release for another 1.5 years from now. Am I being too pessimistic? By that time we might see a new P3D version 4 and Xplane 11. I think I might have been hyping myself up too much about this upcoming flight sim, but I might have to wait a while LONGER, lol. (But... I'm still excited for the upcoming announcement!!)

News on DTG Simulator is coming soon!
Hi everyone, I admit I am getting more excited about DTG's announcement as the time gets nearer, and I am hoping they make a detailed statement about any upcoming features their new flight sim might have along with their announcement; but, not to be a Debbie Downer, but more likely than not, they are only going to announce their new flight sim is being developed. I can think of many airplanes that were announced over 1.5 years ago, and they are still in development. So a whole new flight sim, even if it is based on MS flight tech, will still take time to develop. The fact that we have not seen ONE screenshot of this flight sim tells me we might be waiting a while before we play it. I hardly doubt they are going to release a beta, never mind, a full game in the next few weeks. Even then, it will take a while before we see airplanes like complex, realistic planes for it. I am not as young as I used to be...lol... so I guess this flight sim might be for the young ones who will live long enough to see it mature like Xplane, FSX-SE, Prepar3d... But it's exciting to see what they announce. But I also have concerns, like (sorry, I don't know which poster) a poster posted earlier in this thread: Why would they want to "cannibalize" there share in FSX-SE by releasing a more complex flight sim; they might want the more "laid back" flight gamer.... just my thoughts.

News on DTG Simulator is coming soon!
I think that since MS Flight was not a "whole world" flight sim, I don't know if DTG will put out a fully flyable world. Wouldn't they instead want to roll out a lot of "world region" DLCs for people to buy on top of their game? If you want to fly the north pacific...you can buy that DLC. If you want to fly Alaska...you can buy that DLC. etc. Isn't that want they do with their train sim? You buy lines? Hopefully, DTG has had the time to have already produce a lot of simple airplanes, simple regions, etc, so when they offer their flight sim, hopefully we will have a good amount of DLCs to buy immediately. I hope DTG offers a full (whatever that means, lol) flight sim, but I am not holding my breathe that we will see another FSX type of sim - out of the box. But we will learn more in a couple more weeks...I hope. I am excited, but tempering in my expectations. :-)

Blue Angels: Can anyone be kind enough to tell me the title
Ha, I finally can give an answer I know... The Who Baba O'Riley Most people think it's called...teenage wasteland, but they are wrong :-)

What Flight Sims are you Running?
I use FSX-SE. Before that FSX. I am seriously considering getting DCS' A-10C Warthog and the Nevada map. I wish I had more time to invest in a lot of different flight sims. IL-2 Looks incredible too.

P3D 3.0 Speculation & General Nonsense
For me, I am enjoying this thread and its craziness. Sometimes in life you have to just go with the flow and have a bit of a laugh and embrace the craziness at times. I would love to be a "mayor" of some where or something, so if I can throw my hat into the ring, I predict v3 will be out next year...January 5, 2016, after the holidays are over. How does anyone else waste anyone else's time? lol.

Imagine this for your Home cockpit
I don't see prices listed. Is this one of those, "if you need to ask, you can't afford it" item? lol.

FSX STEAM OR WAIT FOR P3D 64BIT?
You could wait, but for $5, you could install FSX-SE now and enjoy using it now while we wait for a 64 bit P3D. I have no idea, but I don't think we will see a 64 bit P3D for at least another year (and maybe even longer). P3D 32 bit addons will not be compatible when a 64 bit P3D comes out, so if the choice is between FSX SE or waiting, I would get FSX SE and have fun using it

FSX Steam Released! (80% off sale?)
Put me down as another buyer of FSX - SE. For 5 dollars, I couldn't resist. I broke down and bought it on Steam even though I already have the disks. I also find Steam very convenient and easy to use.

Autogen size
I agree. I know I posted a long time back about this. My understanding is: the trees and buildings are big because then you won't need as many of them in any given area, where as, having smaller buildings, houses, trees would requires more of them thus impacting performance.

Why doesn't LM offer P3d add-ons on their website?
Thanks for the responses. Some of the responses make a lot of sense. This is why I frequently visit Avsim everyday. Many great and knowledgeable people who offer good advice and bring up reasons and ideas haven't consider. This makes for a great discussion/forum. Avsim is always interesting and increases my knowledge above and beyond just aviation material. I spend more time reading topics than using FSX  Again, thanks to all of you.

Why doesn't LM offer P3d add-ons on their website?
As I stated, above, I am well aware that Carenado's products work in P3d. Most people know this because Carenado states it, but a lot of people are trying to place other, older and newer FSX stuff into P3d. Some stuff works well, some stuff not so well. My point is: I would think it would be beneficial for P3d to get the word out about which software is compatible with their sim. Obviously, there need for this info, otherwise there won't be a pinned topic (up there) with three pages of poster discussing which planes are and which are not compatible. I feel an ideal place would be on their website. A bad (maybe) analogy would be: If I buy a motherboard, the motherboard's website will have a page that list which ram is compatible. In a similar way, this would benefit third party software developers and might entice new developers (and old ones) to make products for P3d. More products might lead to more P3d sales. Ironically, I just learned from your post of Alabeo (the C172RG looks great). Even though I have been flight simming for almost 10 years, I have never heard of Alabeo. You'd think P3d would highlight these planes and this company for the student learner. .

Why doesn't LM offer P3d add-ons on their website?
Nope, not a late April fool's day posting But if you buy a professional version of P3d, you get some planes included, but it seems they are banking on third parties to add more, so why not FEATURE those developers? Sort of highlight what is available on their website. No where did I post that they had to make the planes or scenery and WE would know what is compatible with out affecting performance. . Plus, if it wasn't for the foundation of FSX, FSX's third party developers, and people migrating FSX planes into P3d, you would have a more limited flight sim, imho. Plus, my question still stands, do people who use P3d in flight school, etc, use Corenado planes or do they develop their own planes, or the planes included? I doubt a flight schools is using the fighter jets. Plus, how does commissioning the development of more in depth planes for their sim hurt, takes time away, or hinders them from building a more rounded and appealing sim? For me, If they could get Flight1 onboard with their b200, I would buy the pro version, if I had to. As of now, although I am tempted to buy P3d, I am still on FSX which is running better on my new PC then it did (obviously) on my 4 year old pc. Maybe they don't need my money (or the others who are in the same boat as me), but even though version 2.2 will probably be great, I wish I knew other than Corenado (which I enjoy on FSX) which planes are built for the sim, etc. Just because you think a question is foolish is not a reason to be flip. Next time, I will just not post.

Why doesn't LM offer P3d add-ons on their website?
Today, I went to Prepar3d's website and noticed they have a "Store" page. Other than offering different licenses for their product (Prepar3d) there aren't any listed add-on for planes, scenery, etc. Aside for links to four developers, but otherwise that's it. Is this because flight schools, the military, airlines, etc develop their own planes for their clients/employees to fly with on Prepar3d? Since some excellent developers of FSX are hesitant to sell version for P3d, I wonder if, in time, Prepar3d will reach out to developers and commission them to produce more high quality add-ons. In this way, we would be assured of compatibility and wouldn't have to worry about migrating fsx planes into P3d. I wouldn't mind some cool boats, cars, etc to explore their world too!

The new plane is the Zero!
Is this considered the April "plane of the month"? I hope when Alaska is released it includes a larger-sized plane like the Cessna Caravan and includes a cockpit.I am not willing to purchase any planes without cockpits. Immersion to me means flying for the right seat :-)-- looks like a lot of Flight players bought the p-51 and MS is pushing the cheaper, no cockpit planes :-(

Is Flight running out of fuel ?
This is so true. Options are a "good thing". I wish MS would offer an FSX upgrade (mostly graphics, multi-core support, better VC support) and I'll pay 80 for it. MS and players then could have their cake and eat it too- offer Flight and an FSX upgrade.

Seeing the reviews have started coming in from gaming sites....
I like those ideas, Dillon. I think those are excellentl ideas. I would love to see those features in Flight and I think more gamers would pay more attention to Flight if features like those get included. Or where included.I have no idea why Flight has chosen to cut so many decent features that were present in FSX out of Flight. Maybe in the future they will add ATC, AI, cars, etc to make the world a bit more alive. I hope so.I think your ideas would open up a whole lot of interest in Flight to gamers who may otherwise pass on Flight.I love the comment below which was posted by ptisinge, in another thread, in reponse to sibtiger's post - which I think sums up the problem Flight might have by not catering to the hardcore simmers and not really thinking what most gamers would find fun...sibtiger, on 14 March 2012 - 11:18 PM, said:That is exactly what Flight is mainly targeting at this point, not the casual gamers or every hardcore simmers.Ptisinge replied:Hmm, this would mean that they targeted a niche inside a niche. That's not the kind of statement that would make me confident about its future...

third party developers to be blamed for the way Flight has ended up?
Thanks for the years of waiting for the B200... lots of head fakes with that! :-)

Maybe, just maybe... we should all support MS Flight. It could be our last hope.
Whoa, sorry to upset you. Where I come from it not unusual for me and my friends to buy between 10-15 new games per year (for the ps3 and pc). Each one between 24 - 49 dollars. so $120 a year for me, is not too bad. Now I can't speak for anyone but me, but 120 dollars a year is not too bad for me, if like I did for FS9 fllying the B200 by aeroworx with VPA ranking up over 500 hours in two years...I guess I am used to paying over 120 dollars a month for cable tv and phone and internet so if i like something 120 a year is doable, for me.

If Flight turns out to be as I expect, I will download it (since it's free), but I will refuse to purchase any DLC for it*.Imho, if you want to support flight simulation sims, it might be better to reward those companies that are putting out real sims:Xplane, DCS: A-10C Warthog, Rise of Flight, even Prepar3d. 120 dollars a year for Prepar3d is like buying 2 new pc games a year, not too bad if you go the 10 dollars per month way. *However, if down the road, we get real DLC that turn this game into more of a sim with better graphics I will reconsider, but I am doubtful we will ever see PMDG, RealAir, or A2A types of planes in Flight. Has Realair made any posts regarding Flight?

Flight Autogen Traffic Bug
LOL. Well Skip, I appreciated your post. IMHO, it should be the "post of the year"!I saw the blue skies and thought "oh no, someone posted a pic from the beta?"I scrolled down a bit more, and thought, "wow, I like the sailboat",Scrolled down a bit more and saw the whole photo, and laughed my butt off.Great job! Some people might not like the "joke", but I found it funny as heck. Maybe because I thought it would be a "leaked" screenshot? I don't know, I don't care, it made me laugh, so thanks.
