I have been trying to enjoy msfs2020

With VR you essentially have a replica of every plane at the ready in your basement. 🙂 Not just one.

Phasing out non-VR flight is just stupid. There are far more people who dont use it that use it. Then there are the people that VR makes sick. That would kill the sim for sure.

With that said a side-by-side approach going forward would be the best solution. But honestly once they get the VR mechanics in anything else they make will just work. Simple little 'enable' switch in the code of the aircraft.

I can't handle the VR dino coaster on the quest...also if the flying game is arcadie it makes me nautious too...but with a realistic flight simulator it doesn't affect me at all because to my brain it looks real...if you don't get nautious flying in the real world I doubt you will in VR

It does make me laugh when people say VR is expensive, whilst they're sat behind their Flight/Sim Rigs and powerful PCs costing thousands in total! I'm currently selling my Oculus Rift CV1 on eBay, starting price is a mere £130 which is a lot cheaper than a semi-decent HOTAS.

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

The fact you have grey hair and are against VR says a lot about what's going on. The old ways of simming are going to disappear.

I think that post is out of line.

There would be multitudes of members of this forum with grey hair using high level tech and more than willing to jump to VR when the solution is viable.

Anyway it's up to each person how to fly...but honestly if you haven't given VR a go on a good system you really don't know what you are missing.

I mean us VR guys aren't stupid...we know how good msfs2020 looks...but we also know how much better it will look in VR. 😎

Oh good, another 'why VR is amazing thread'.
(Perhaps the title could be amended to show what this thread is discussing).

Yes, VR is incredible - if you like it.
Lots of people don't due to various issues and the current price of headsets.

The good news is that VR is coming to MSFS as one of the highest priorities.
If you want to use it, you should. The rest of us are happy with 'boring, flat, 2D screens' and individual setups that we choose to our liking. We can each enjoy the sim in our own way.

Give it time...

... and MSFS will have VR then. 😉

If the graphics ain't good I don't quite get the sense of VR immersion wise.

Ya I was just poking fun...what viable solutions are you referring to?

September!  Until then msfs2020 is a dust collector for me. 🙂

People spend way more on hardware and third party add-ons than they would in a VR headset...so price is no excuse.

Resolution & sweet spot size, maybe the HP Reverb G2 will cause me to make the jump
