Nice utility for VFR following

Featured Replies

Have a look at VFRMAP if you are flying VFR and the FS map window is just not enough to find your way around. You can find it here: https://github.com/lian/msfs2020-go/releases

This small utility connects your browser to FS and projects the position of your aircraft onto Google maps 🙂 . Installation is a breeze (just one small exe to be unzipped), and you can of course run your browser windowed within your FS cockpit. Cockpit commands require FS to have the focus, so you may have to switch the focus between both programs according to your needs.

nice!

No problem at all, Sir! Please note that I have reposted it in the Tips and Tricks forum.

I'm a complete moron. How do I go about using this? Launched MSFS, launched my default browser and navigated to maps.google.com, launched VFRMap (get black screen confirming connection), but no apparent coms with Google Maps or my browser? @SimFx if you don't mind me asking ... 😋

Does this approach avoid the simconnect stutter issue?

Specs: Win10, 4790K, nVidia 1080ti, Saitek Yoke+Quadrant+Radio/Switch and AP panels, VRInsight 737 overhead, Virtual Avionics 737 MCP. 3 x 1440*900 main display + 1024*600 VDU display. NLR V3 Motion seat. Oculus DK2 CV1 HTC Vive VR headsets.

Launch FS and create a flight, then, when set up at the airport:

Launch VFRMap

Enter http://localhost:9000/ in your browser

Select "Load map" in lower left corner

Now you should see your aircraft as a black triangle within Google maps

its not, you can't use ANY addon using simconnect without stutters, tried this map yesterday - same stutters as with vpilot

we need to wait for a fix form asobo for the simconnect issue.
