Hi, Geof? Are you referring to me? I am not selling my knowledge to this bunch. They cannot afford me. They only get cheep, lacking knowledge, labor. I would not have my name associated with this type of code and behavior. You must have been one of the few real pilots that will accept less than what can be done. Be careful, that attitude can get you in trouble in Real flying, I would hate to read about you in some article? TV

Well you know what they say about bold pilots-with boasts like that sounds like I'll be reading about you...Me-I'm always ready to learn-and I've flown with many that are pretty awe inspiring...http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/rxp-pilot.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Rex, If you can't run FSX on your system I would suggest that you have a major problem with your system. Craig

It will be nice when all this ends. I don't get how a $50 to $70 bit of software can cause this much pain for some of you.I would understand this more if it were a $83,000.00 auto you were going on and on about. People calling each other names, acting like the world is going to end because Aces put out a flight sim that they don't like.

FS-X doesn't have to do SO MUCH. Its not our fault that the design team lost focus or wanted to please everyone. The result is a program that has many, many features but also many, many problems.A good design team cuts out the fluf, breaks some of the old backwards competability. We would b*tch about that as always but we would not have this many complaint about the performance and the resulting program would be much more useable.

No, I do not take pleasure in finding other people's typos. I have had good results with XFX video cards so I really did think you were talking about XFX the vid card company. What I do take pleasure in is enjoying flying, and that is what I am going to do right now and avoid this thread, since it doesn't talk about XFX at all...RhettAMD 3700+ (@2.5 ghz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (94.47), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2 GB Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8, WD 250 gig 7200 rpm SATA2, CoolerMaster Praetorian

>>> Rex,>> If you can't run FSX on your system I would suggest that you>have a> major problem with your system.>> CraigNo, this is just a case of someone that doesn't want to lower their standards. If you want to you can keep looking at FS-X trought those rose tinted shades, keeping in mind that you blew $70 on it and if the light is good and you squint your eyes real hard it might look atractive in a funny way and you might even convince yourself that this 15 fps (with some drop into the teens) feels much smoother then a full constant 30 fps elsewhere. Just don't look at it in full daylight when you're sober.

Hi craig. You have not read my first two posts. But I will repeat it For you.First I have done most of the tweaks recomended on the Fox site that was recomended to me hear on AVSIM,Second I can fly the sim with an average Frame rate of about 18FPS with the slider set midway Vehicle, boats and pleasure craft at 10% And it looks very good. But with the long wait for FSX I was hopeing I would be able to setit higher, not for FPS but to seemore what is on offer in play.((Thanks to all the guys who gave me a friendly lift, and can understand what I was trying to say.))Regards GraigRex

HI all, my 2 cents...Why would you ever, ever build a game to run on hardware 3 years from now? That to me is insane...They don't even know (might have a small guess though) what kind of hardware is going to be out there in 3 years...it could all turn in a direction they never thought of and FSX will crumble...Imagine if HL2, BF2 or most other popular games where written for hardware 3 years from now??? They are not...yes some people with older hardware have problems but anyone with a high end system can run them fine. FSX cripples most high end systems here...That should not be...Yes it's complicated, but so are other games in there own ways...Like Lock ON...personal favorite.. :)Another thing...why use pixel shader 2 ? When 3 has been out for awhile now? I've played games that can use both and 3 is faster..Now they are going to make the magical jump to PS 4.0 ??? All DX10 cards are 4.0 unified pipelines...and FSX does not use it...SO how will a DX10 card help if it's not a PS 4.0 game. My understanding is for the games to use DX10 fully, they have to use PS 4.0...that would be "ALOT" of work...for a patch...They tried going from 2 to 3 in IL2...never worked right from what I read...Just some thoughts to ponder...Larry

Fact : Microsoft doesn't care whether FSX will work on you system or not. They know that users will waste their money in upgrading their system through numerous tweaks, graphic cards, mem boosts etc. FS2002 and FS2004 became great products due to the community, MS only provided a tool.If MS would depict the same deceptive information on their OFFICE range as they do on their FS box, since long time they would have received a major claim against them for 'deceptive' marketing. We all know that the sim will only play as a slideshow based on the minimum system requirements indicated by MS. This is true for FSX and was true for most of the previous versions. Nothing new here ...I'm sure FSX will turn out a great sim in a year or two, but only because of the efforts of the community, not those of MS.That's marketing, that's how money is made in this industry, that's how MS makes money. But hey, what do you expect for a piece of software that costs less than a good dinner with your gal? It sure looks like FS is getting as real as it gets, problem is that the community seems more more like living in a fantasy world (reason why I quit posting here a long long time ago).
