Hi Greg.Sorry Put it down to the loss of gray matter on my shoulders.and they went round years ago.Best regards,Rex

>either pack it up and return it (MS offers a 45-day refund>policy), or go stuff your complaints and spend some time>tweaking it like the other 98% percent of us.>>GG So you think 98% of people are satisfied? It's not an impression I get. If this new FS product is ever patched/improved it won't be because of people like you who make the best of a bad job and don't make a fuss of something that isn't up to standard. it's the so-called whiners and complainers and I count myself as one of them, who let Aces know what needs to be fixed/patched/improved. How you can be satisfied with a product that has failed to live up to it's promises I fail to understand. If you're happy why don't you not post and let the rest of us whiners get on with it. This argument works both ways.

Hi again.Let us call an end to this,Yes I am bitter at microsoft, for not fullfilling what they promist, but it is still a very good sim and I am enjoying it,and the pc is a wizz at everything else.all the best.Rex

We should be grateful to Avsim for allowing us to be negative and post our thoughts. If the folks here can't get it to run right, just imagine the frustration of those who do not read forums here or elsewhere. When I buy something, I expect honesty from the developer. If its gonna stutter then say so and be forthright. I think we here knew that and made decisions based on that. I certainly have not purchased yet based on the way the demo ran on my P4 3.0 with 1gig ram and Ati 9800pro. But I still think the developer should put out a product they can really show off and be proud of. Why should it take months of tweaking to get it to run right? The tweaking should be to bring out the special features in it. Like every other version, I too will buy it eventually when I upgrade hardware after the new year, but I better see it running in DX10, on multi-cores (which are made especially for multi-threaded apps like this) with a patch for fixes. I keep my fingers crossed and keep hope for FSX!

It was a beta test in name only.>>>>The File Planet beta doesn't qualify you to be a "beta>tester"...>>>(File Planet's demo/beta did not have any feedback>capabilities)Sure it does. Only some of the members were chosen to be a beta tester. It said specifically that it was a beta and was a limited beta for a limited amount of people. I was chosen so therefore i was a beta tester. Just because you have an opinion on what constitutes a beta tester does not make it fact. There was no way to provide feedback to MS re: the issues with the beta hence my original post stating that there was no way to pass along info to them.

It was a beta test in name only. You were not of the "real beta test team" then... You had only the "open beta" to play with. The real beta team went through three beta versions over the course of many months and had ample feedback opportunity. More that that none of us are allowed to say.

I distinctly recall using the words "supremely disappointed" and "we're all in the same boat", for starters. The statement I made which you quoted above is implying that I see 98% of us are spending our time tweaking FSX. How on earth did you extrapolate from what I said that I feel 98% of us are happy with FSX??Feel free to come back and argue with me all you want after you've read and actually comprehended what I've stated in this thread.EDIT: You don't understand how I can be satisfied with a product that has failed to live up to its expectations? Then let me ask you something - have you returned FSX and gotten your refund yet from Microsoft? Oh, you haven't? Well, then I guess you're just as satisfied with a substandard product as I am.

Here, HERE!Touche!I have basically an out-of-the-box Dell Gen 3 3.4 Prescott Pent 4 with an ATIx800XT and with patience and offered tweaks, now get 12-18 FPS as a mean scene-average. This is with all the scenery slides to the max, clouds as default setting, and Auto-Gen FULLY OFF. No true eye-candy, but the physics of the flight sim---GREAT DYNAMICS...is certainly most playable. My system over the next 18 months will catch up. The only other thing I have done, is to order another two gigs of system RAM (533Mhz)to add to my system-shipping one. That's all I expect to do, until I see what shakes out in the hardware scene. This I might add is with ASV 6.5 running in the background as the weather engine. Norton's is always running as I quote my system FPS in any version of Flight Simulator.Mitch R.

>Hi.>well another with insulting ways. Can you name me one program>or game in the last six months that dose not support SLI and>Dual CPU'S and after all FSX is only a game not a way of>life.>All the best >RexYup. Off the top of my head, Company of Heroes does not support SLI out of the box and as far as I know, it still doesn't. That's not only a high-profile title, but also less than 2 months old.Furthermore, the list of games that truly support dual cores (meaning they are multithreaded apps) is surprisingly small. I can only think of two, Oblivion and Call of Duty 2, but I'm fairly certain there are a few more.So take your pick out of virtually anything released in the last 6 months to answer your question. Just because a game gives you a few more FPS on a dual-core system does not make it a dual-core game.

A beta without formal feedback to the developer is nothing more than a pre-release preview, no matter how special the term "beta tester" made you feel.Gary

"Look at FS9, look at FS2002 and every release before and you see the same threads and the same loaded questions."I don't believe that at all. I've been around since the days of FS98, and I've seen the release of FS2000, FS2002, FS2004. There have always been negative comments, but the sheer magnitude of the negative comments are MUCH higher this time around. Only FS2000 came close to the negative vibes we are seeing today.
