It's strange the way that manufacturers have a thing about not showing scratches on their machines to perpetrate the silly idea that they are indestructible.

OK I propose a couple of compromises for the sim: Review the parameters for giving a user the black screen - I get the impression that the current crash detection isn't harsh enough.

Or at least have the landing gear shear off or disappear (instantly retracted, no animation!) before sliding to a halt - no damage shown on the model, but you can't taxi. Then you get the reset option.

It's a video, get it right... You cannot see the wing and gear from inside the cockipit, get it right. If FS 2020 had an instant replay, then I wouldn't need to record from outside view, get it right.

I get a lot of satisfaction after landing the A-10 Warthog in DCS with one gear and half an elevator. Moreso if I keep it down the centerline.

History of that word aside, as you know, various other offensive words have been censored in this Forum.  That was actually the tongue-in-cheek point I was trying  to make...

Ooops! Bad fingers, bad! 😂

I think part of this argument is about to what extent ground handling of the aircraft should matter as an element of pilot skill, or whether the simulation should cover only aerodynamics and basically end at the point the tires touch the runway. Even if you remain in cockpit view, you'd still feel a blown tire or collapsed gear, especially in a light GA plane.

I know. I find it amusing that I can type arse with no problems at all, but the "American English" spelling of ass is only sometimes forbidden! 

At one time a fellow registered here and was puzzled when his signature block showed up as "word not allowed Rodriguez" instead of "Jesus Rodriguez..." 😏
