How different is Google from Bing

I remember a long time ago when you could stream google earth texture in FSX, it never really worked.

Mate, with all respect, time and technology has really moved on since FSX days.  It may well be limited to P3Ds ESP platform with all its limitations too.  I have no idea really.

Another aspect is that whilst it may be technically possible, with P3Ds development tied to Microsoft in so many ways, I cannot really imagine MS wishing them well and allowing that sort of competition with their new product. Again, I do not know for sure where that stands.

Regardless of the above, I really do hope that you are fundamentally wrong and for all the right reasons LOL, and that it is feasible/possible and that it is being looked at and or being worked on now.

Also, Xplanes' not in that same boat so there are distinct possibilities there (other than Austins' statement regarding satellite maps.  Maybe the incredible uptake of MSFS2020 can change his mind.

Just imagine, if you will, three sim platforms with this standard of scenery.

Yummy

Went to fly last night at KSAN.  Took off and looked left to see North Island Naval Air Station is missing.  It is just an empty field.  There is no Coronado Bay bridge.  The buildings are very old.  No downtown stadium.   Looks like that Bing map hasnt' been updated since the 1950's.  Although overall I like the scenery but definately needs to be updated....

And how boring would that be, 3 sim platforms with the same standard of scenery!

Is not P3D pretty much tied up with Microsoft's licensing & ESP? The difference is that P3D is not licensed as an entertainment product, whereas MSFS, via Asobo is. Interesting times ahead indeed. I suppose it's dependant on if LM's market requires streaming scenery, & if the quality & current update of Bing is suitable for professional training. Maybe not, according to the complaints so far.

Anyhow, As far as X-Plane goes.. Methinks we have too many experts who know better to run a sim company than Austin.
